well now we can try it ourself Seven held in Danish terror raids
Danish police have arrested seven suspected terrorists, the country's security intelligence service says.
The suspects, believed to be all men aged between 18 and 33, were picked up during overnight raids in Odense, Denmark's third largest city.
The country's Justice Minister, Lene Espersen, said it was likely they were planning an attack in Denmark.
The men had been under surveillance for months and were detained on suspicion of planning terror acts.
Two others who were arrested at the same time have been released.
All seven are due in court later and are being held under anti-terror laws introduced after the 11 September 2001 attacks on the US.
Ms Espersen said: "The clues police found indicate that they were very likely planning an attack somewhere in Denmark.
"It was the most serious matter I have had in my time as justice minister. Police went in and stopped the group as it was preparing an attack."
'No unnecessary risk'
Lars Findsen, head of the Danish Security Intelligence Service (Pet), said in a statement that the arrests happened in the city's suburb of Vollsmose.
He said the suspects "had acquired material... to build explosives in connection with the preparation of a terror act".
Mr Findsen did not reveal any planned target of the attack and said it was hard to evaluate how far the suspects had got in their preparations.
"With the general terror situation, the Danish Security Intelligence Service didn't want to run any unnecessary risk." The arrests would not prompt Denmark to raise its terror alert, Mr Findsen added.

So what happened in Essex? Hello people! Haven't been to a good party (even a bad party, any party in fact since I found out I was pregnant 1 and a whole half years ago - techno gets really monotonous when your minds not too bent) and can only re-live my life through hearsay............anyway my mate was at essex bankholiday party and all he'd say was that he got a good-kicking, in a john wayne-cowboy kinda way. What happened - does anyone remember?
Arrested for CANNABIS Posssession To cut a long story short, i was on my way to visit friends in Guernsey (channel islands) last weekend and was arrested for the first time ever.
I had decided to take what was left of my weekend weed with me, it turned out to be 1.1 g (weighed by customs, without the bag they told me), well when i got off the ferry i was escorted into the customs shed and asked "anything to declare".
Being an honest chap and because i thought theres no point in lying as they'll probably search me anyway, so i said i had a small amount of cannabis, also thinking that they wouldn't do much apart from confiscate it, how wrong i was.
In Guernsey cannabis is still class b and they're very anal about drugs, the customs blokes were in fact apologetic about it, they said they had no choice but to arrest me, my bag and person were thoroughly searched, they found nothing else because i had nothing else on me, i was lucky i hadn't left a bag with a bit of MDMA which was left over from Friday night in my wallet because apparently they're even more anal about that.
The customs and police officers were actually really nice to me (Stockholm syndrome?) probably because i was nice to them and cooperated, customs even let me out of the cells into the warehouse area for a cigarette (they gave me a whole pack) at which point i had a lengthy conversation with them about the pros and cons of renewable energy whilst chain smoking cigarettes and drinking a cup of tea.
After that i was transfered to police custody to be properly arrested and to allow big brother, sorry the state, to take my picture, DNA and fingerprints.
After about an hour and half with them most of which i spent in the cells reading Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy (luckily i had it with me) i was lucky enough to get bail, lucky in that they Don't normally bail people with no local address in case they do a runner.
Being a bank holiday Sunday i had to wait around until Tuesday for my court appearance, at which i pleaded guilty and got fined £300 pounds.
That was some very expensive weed.
So, my advice is don't take any drugs with you to the channel islands, it might be part of the UK but they're seriously anally retentive about drugs there.

myspace wants to sell the tunes on it if you load tunes onto myspace check this out
Website MySpace is to allow unsigned bands featured on the social networking site to sell their music as downloads.
The site - which has 106 million users - is currently testing the idea, and hopes to rival market leader iTunes.
Nearly three million bands feature on the site, with individual bands set to decide on the price of their tracks.
"The goal is to be one of the biggest digital music stores out there," MySpace co-founder Chris DeWolfe told news agency Reuters.
"Everyone we've spoken to definitely wants an alternative to iTunes and the iPod. MySpace could be that alternative."
MySpace, which is owned by media giant News Corporation, currently allows visitors to the site to listen to up to four songs per band - but these cannot be bought.
"A band in Iowa can now reach out to fans in Los Angeles," said Mr DeWolfe.
"They can actually sell their music on MySpace in an area where their fans congregate in a very contextual manner."
In the past year, MySpace.com became the single most visited internet address among US web users - although that position is now strongly contested by video site YouTube.

and tell us what you think of the idea :groucho:
whats the best practical joke you have seen? I've seen a few but this one stands out in my mind..
About 8 years ago I was working for this IT/media company at the height of the dot-com boom. This was the time before flash memory was common (USB was new back then!) so small software builds of up to about 5 or 6 megs were still stored on 3.5" disk.
Engineers would copy the software they needed for customers' kit to these disks; if they weren't actually being sent to customers the disks were recovered and re-used.
we had a project manager who was too lazy to return the disks to a central store, but would keep them in a pile on his desk (which eventually grew to half a metre in height).
he would also leave his office chair pulled out some distance away from the desk - and There was a false celing in the office.
He eventually got another job elsewhere, so on his leaving day one of my work colleagues decided to give him a better send off.....
everyone was down the pub, but this chap made some excuse that there was an urgent support call and returned to the office whilst it would be empty...
he got some very thin wire wrapping wire (this is like fishing line, virtually invisible) and threaded it through the write enable hole in each alternate disk in the pile; then re-assembled the pile of disks. On top of the pile he added a paper cup full with hole punch clippings, washers, and other random small stuff, also attached to the wire...
He then pushed the office chair flush against the managers desk...
the wire was then run up through the false ceiling (the metal bit acting as a pivot) - then pulled taut and securely attached to the office chair...
Of course when the manager returns the first thing he thinks is
"why is my chair pushed forward like that" and pulls it out so he can sit down..

Putting Something Back At the moment i'm just a mere mortal punter (or should the be munter ) in the rave community, i dont get invited to much but what i have been to i've liked immensely, now i feel i ought to put something back.
That and as others have said on here, actually helping to put on a party and seeing people enjoying themselves is very rewarding, and for some its the best way to fully appreciate a party, it also seems like a great way to make good friends.
Now, i have absolutely no skills on a set of decks and no hope of ever having any so thats out, but as my name suggests i'm a techie type (i prefer engineer), so that offers at least one avenue.
Whilst i could probably build and run a rig i dont really have the connection for it to be fully utilised and i dont have the cash for it being a student.
What i do have for offer is my skills as an electronic engineer, so this is an open offer to anyone in the southwest (i'm based in Exeter) who needs anything fixing or even something designed.
I've always wanted to say something like this:
For hire: Electronic Engineer, will work for beer, drugs or food.
Another interest of mine (damn it i've got too many), is Tesla Coils.
Simply put, these are electrical devices which turn low(ish) voltages into very high voltage which then arcs from a sphere or torroid at the top of the coil which looks amazing.
They range in size from tiny ones all the way up to huge ones which throw lightning 10's of feet.
I think a Tesla Coil would go down pretty well at a rave (they're amazing enough sober), so what i would like to do is set myself up as a sort of high voltage special effects rig with my own van so i can transport the bulky Tesla Coil components around.
I would also definately need my own generator since a decent size coil will pull something in the 2 - 10 kVA range and high voltage doesnt mix well with sensitive electronic equipment such as amps and mixers.
I have already built one moderate sized coil which was doing 3 foot arcs before i over did it and blew up the power supply, so it would be too difficult to come up with something bigger.
What i want to know is would there be any enthusiasm for such a thing from the those already established in the rave community? i wouldnt want to spend money i dont have on putting something together if everyone thought it was crap, although i suppose i could go round doing school fetes if that were the case.
See the attached pics (not the best) for my coil in action.
Thanks,
Rob
a bit gay, but i was maaaaaashed easy geezes!
right, first an explanation - near by where i live a party was going along nicely when about a hundred police jumped out from the bushes (or walked through something like twelve acres of empty fields) to our little party. they proceeded to beat the shit out of everyone and everything they could. apparently the farmer had even given permission but i don't know if that is true. anyway i've been smoking away tonight and i was thinking about this party and the rave scene in general and this sort of came to me in a smoky haze...
the cat neared the mouse but she moved like a snail
the mouse fell about while the cat chased his tail
the mouse soon moved on and went home to bed
the quiet was so welcome the cat laid it's head
but it wasn't long before the mouse reproduced
and the noise she'd been making was given a boost
up and out jumped the cat from his bed
with a scowl he pronounced "i want that mouse dead"
now the mouse tucked away in her wall hidden home
knows all the cat's tricks, knows where she can roam
and time and again the mouse had a bean (or 5)
and time and again she left the place clean
but one saturday the cat had enough
it seems he decided "'twas time to get tough"
so the cat caught the mouse in a fucking huge field
said "now that i've got you, your future is sealed'
a smack round the face and he smashed up his decks
rampaging along like a hungry t-rex
and the speakers and genny and drugs van and shit
were stamped on and beaten into decimal bits
but the mouse and her friends have survived the attack
and it wont be long before another stack
is set up away from the cat's watching eye
and the mouse and her friends can have a good old fashioned rib tickling, head fucking, buzz boosting stomp
safe.
Transition Town Totnes Anyone in the southwest (or anywhere really) who is interested in sustainable living and/or preparing for life after oil should check out this series of events in Totnes over the next few months.
Quote:
We are delighted to announce the programme of events for the first 4 months of the Transition Town Totnes initiative. The project will develop, over the next 12 - 18 months, an Energy Descent Action Plan for Totnes, designing a positive way down from the oil peak, building on the work begun in Kinsale. It will strive to be inclusive, imaginative, practical and fun. We have put together a programme which combines inspirational speakers, many of whom will be visiting Totnes for the first time, film screenings, Open Space think tank days and much more.
