what's going on?

I live in Bristol but most of my friends (and all of my past) is in Oxford. When I lived there we used to go all the time, every three weeks or so. Anyway, everybody got together about nine, which was real late as it was going to take about an hour to get to Dunstable. Four cars in total with about 17/18 people later we were there and got a great spot for the cars just by the warehouse. It was about ten thirty and nobody was getting in at all the crowd just started to get bigger and bigger I'd not seen anything like that amount of people before. I remember getting worried because I thought there was a problem, I was already coming up on the first pill of the night. Now I don't know if this is related at all but there was this group of about five blokes, mostly mid twenties, but there was one guy about 45+ balding, you know the type. I remember joking "dad came to a rave" with everyone in my car. Well anyway they went into the crowd and came out about 5 mins later and the crowd started to go in. They could have been plain clothes Babylon checking the place before anyone went in? I don't know.

They picked a fucking mental warehouse for the party, if you know the area, it was off the exit where the collective wait at the meeting point roundabout. Then it was about 200 meters round that road on the left. It had loads of interconnecting rooms and three sound systems. They also had a new bunch of people doing the drinks and they were well stocked up. the only real problem was I myself couldn't find any working taps to re-fill the water, so it was pound a shot bottles all night, bit of an arse. The toilets were grim as well, which was to be expected but this was a little full on. even for me. Yeah, I'd say that was the worst thing about the night. They also had a big bonnie going out back which was really good later on in the night. Like I said before they had used spray paint to mark the exits, direct you to the Dub room etc. which had a rather nice bud leaf sprayed on the wall behind the DJ :o)

As usual the music was mixed all through the night. Dark d&b, gabba, loads of acid techno and some happy hardcore for about an hour. the buildup for new years was more than I expected, they started on the mike about half hour before with the countdown. It got down to about three minutes when the sound went, I don't think it was on purpose but fuck me! 8000+ just started going mad! you couldn't help but join in. two and a half e's and that shear unity factor, I'd never felt anything like it!! Well they got the system going again and new years rolled through. I tend to lose it a bit after this, I do remember DJ Die turned up and did a set, I can't remember but I sure other "big" names turned up as well. I left about 11am after a good sleep in the car from about 9am, I'd heard it was going on for a couple of days but I don't know to be honest what time it finished.

Oh, yeah the only other thing I have to say about that night was when we turned up at the first roundabout (the one with Woodside Estate written on it) this fucking Babylon car buzzed me hard! Came out of nowhere sirens, lights the lot. pulled me over and then just drove off... Bastards.... the adrenaline buzz was out of this world though :o)
