Report 2 -
The day before the vernal equinox spraying fluoro paint all over Simon's
fantastic home-made geodesic dome and doing a test-build in a local park
before heading off to Mutant Dance's 8th birthday party at stonehenge. We
got there about midnight and set up the UV dome. Various plans had gone awry
and the sound system hadn't turned up, but people improvised and things
started buzzing. Eventually Bethany & Cockney and all the Mutant crowd got
the System sorted and things kicked off nicely...As we neared down the
druids turned up and the Chief druid (I can distinctly remember some small
child point and say "mammy, is that the leader of the hippies?") came along
to tell everyone at the party that he'd try and get them to let us all in if
we promised to be nice. We grinned a lot and looked as fluffy and nice as we
could. Then, just before sunrise, they let us in!!!! - I still can't quite
believe it. The buzz in the circle was indescribable. After the druids had
done their spring thing people just wandered round, hugging things and
grinning tons. Even the solitary copper was chilled. Someone started up a
drum and a couple of didge's and got a beat going. walks got bouncier and we
all had a bit of a dance in the circle. Magical. After an hour we had to
leave, so it was back to the dome and more techno in the flourodome. Best
free party I've ever been to guys......
