what's going on?

Almost as if the London Crews were trying to beat last week's Headfuk party, here we all found ourselves in another huge fucking South London cinema. I guess the Coronet group of theatres must've gone bust since they've provided the venues over the last three weeks. This time the cinema was much bigger though, only two screens, but the main room was enormous, comfy seats, massive soundsystem, rammed with people. In the first room were Scallywags, rude awakening related drum n bass rig, playing a nice mix of old and new. Up the stairs was a tekno/jungle system (can't remember which one) and then in the main hall Underground Sounds and Mainline had hooked up with an enormous rig. Even up in the gallery the music was deafening, but we spent most of the night up there anyway.

I think the police tried to close the party a few times, the cab driver who took us said it had been raided and when we turned up about two-ish there were a few of them lurking outside. In the end they must've given up, I guess and when I left at about 8 on the Sunday the place was still rocking. Another party with quite a dark side to it, saw one budding photographer taking a beating on the stairs and a lot of attitude there as well. I still haven't worked out why people go looking for trouble at a party, but if it keeps getting worse I'd like to think United Systems would do something. Why put on a party for people to fuck it up with their aggression? Anyway, yet again a wicked party (moodiness aside), yet again one bus all the way home, yet again a nice warm bed waiting for me at the end. Hopefully next week the party'll still be down South, nice and easy. nice one to all the rigs involved.....
