what's going on?

One of the biggest London venues I've seen in a while this weekend for the three night Easter party. Made our way out of the station only to find ourselves confronted with about four police cars and spent the next twenty minutes trying to find the party having scarpered in totally the wrong direction.

Eventually made our way in and started checking out the building. This place was huge, a big main warehouse type thing with Twisted and Underground Sounds at the front with their techno rig, then a few much smaller rooms, home to Headfuk, Mayhem, Siren and another little system in the corner room. Headfuk played everything from hip hop through hardcore, drum'n'bass, techno, the lot. Didn't hear any garage I don't think! Siren on a trancey techno all night, then another system with a really nice bar doing much the same thing next door. Upstairs I.R.S were in a tiny little room rammed full of people and, when they eventually got the power going, put on a pretty good party.

Much less attitude than usual at this party, less rudes, less crack and less jungle - all of which tend to breed the kind of chaos we've been seeing lately. The main room gradually filled up as the night wore on, packed with all sorts - jugglers, skateboarders, travellers, little kids, suits, you name it. The police were alright about things as well, we won't fuck with you, if you don't fuck with us sort of approach, nice to see our friends in blue getting into the holiday spirit! leaving on Sunday morning the place was still shaking, apparently the party's going on until Tuesday......so I guess I'll see you there later.
