what's going on?

Failing to make it out on Saturday night, we choose to sort ourselves out on Sunday night and make it up to the Ridgeway for a rather large party. Driving up to a well known spot, we ended up in a small traffic jam...turns out the police were blocking the road up ahead. We hung around for a bit, before being told that the party was happening up at the Monument.

Driving up towards to the Ridgeway again, we could see blue flashing lights coming from the top of the hill. We presumed it was the police busting the party, but once we got close, we realised it was one of the system tracker lights! I had to park fairly close to the road, as driving all the way up to the Monument would have fucked my car big time.

We walked up towards the systems, loads of people were milling around - at least 1000-1500 people were there. Six systems in total. Biggest outdoor party I've been to for a while - Datsound, Tribe of Isis, Desta*nation being the local systems, joined by Substance from Manchester. With a couple of other unknown systems setup. Each system played a different style. Desta*nation had brought out a huge system, and took them until 2am to get it going. Dub with MC's finally came on, and was loud! Substance and Datsound were on the Monument itself, with some wicked techno(!) coming from Datsound. We stayed here most of the night, and had a great time.

A police landrover came up and checked the party out. My mates started skining up in it's front lights - before realising it was a police vehicle... hehehe most amusing at the time.

Great great night. Cheers to everyone involved.
