what's going on?

We arrived onsite at about 22:00 to find that the police had already escorted the sound system out the county. Unless another one was to be found, with 1.5 hours to go, the party would be off. Pete and I decided to head back to Petersfield and get his sound system down. We wasted no time in loading our cars up, and then driving back to the site. Which had by now descended into what can only be described as unorganized chaos and a collection of cars pumping out a variety of noises into the otherwise peaceful night.

By the time we had arrived back so had a couple other sound systems, which when eventually plumbed together managed to produce quite a respectable kick. The barn filled in minutes and within no time the place was heaving. I think the police had not expected another sound system to arrive, and the fact that it had, right under their noses as well, meant they could do nothing else but stand idly by while near on 1000 people lost it to some of the finest hard house and techno.

A while later all the power went down, and it was complete darkness (& silence), we ran out back and located the breaker which had been flicked off. Not sure who by, but with the flick of a switch a huge cheer rang out.

A couple mates got turned away by the police, but I hear others persisted over fields, wheelchair included.

A prime example of what can be achieved with a little cooperation and a lot of effort.
