Standing at the top of the field, looking down at the festival, it was exactly as I remembered it from last year, except it looked bigger and with much more people! I strolled down there and took a look around. The main Exodus tent was booming, I don't actually remember not seeing it packed over the weekend. The live bands put a wicked vibe on the festival - they were definitely a highlight for me.
The variety of music and things to do and still impresses me, as I prefer parties, etc, that are "busy" with lots of different systems. Well there was no shortage of systems here.
Going down the end of the field, it narrowed into a kind of track, with loads of systems lined up on the left hand side, including my personal favourite, Junktion 14. I actually got lost down here at one point whilst trying to find my way back to the J14 tent, and ended up in a state of complete confusion which was quite amusing.
Every system seemed to have decent lights, and I loved all the UV lighting. There were some little cafe type things there, which had a nice chilled out feeling to them, good for those who had possibly been caning it a bit too much and needed to relax! There was a mud wrestling pit there for the real nutters, (I didn't have a go - I'm a wimp).
Some friends who hadn't been to Exodus before came with me, and they loved it, which put me on a total high! I love seeing peoples reactions to free parties, etc when they haven't been before - and I never seen a bad reaction!
Well that about sums it up for me - I can't write in too much detail about anything because I can't remember too well (!?!). Basically there was music for all, and as far as I could tell, good attitudes. It was an excellent weekend, the best for me so far this year. This weeks attempt at recovery was definitely worth it.
