what's going on?

Me and some mates arrived on the Isle of Dogs about 11:30ish, found a place to park (which was a mission!!), when we got outside, this building was pretty big, it was an old office block that looked like it was going to be converted to apartments in the near future. We found the entrance and paid our 3ukp door tax each. As we walked through to door we noticed the very strong familiar smell of spray paint.

This was different from other squats I've been to (only been to about 5 tho), it was very clean (seriously!!, well at the start anyway), no dirt anywhere, obviously a virgin building ;-) , very big, very open, not much to explore really but good for parties I reckon.. There was 3 systems on the ground floor and a system on each other floor, I think there was about 4 or 5 floors I reckon.. The music was very hard from really hard acid techno to gabber to music I've never heard before.. A system on the ground was pumping out some Drum and bass, but apart from that the music was very different to what I was used to.. A lot of the music seemed very demented if that makes any sense.

We made our way up to the third floor, found a nice bit of carpet to sit on and just chilled for a bit.. When I came to there was people everywhere.. When I first went in, the toilets were not too bad for a squat, but now, now the situation was very different, with no running water tho, what's there to expect, went in to one loo and just took one look and the strange yellow liquid dripping from the ceiling and decided to try another one.

After looking about it became apparent that there was absolutely no water freely available whatsoever, which pissed me off quite a bit, its the first squat ive been to that didn't have water freely available in some form, which I thought was quite bad on the organisers part.. About 1am the water totally run out, and they were selling small cans of lemonade and coke for 1ukp each, it was clear that they didn't prepare to cater for this many people.

That this was going to be the party of the night in London, the place was totally packed out. Sometime in the night, I left to drive to a petrol station to get some much needed water.. The mission I had getting out was a nightmare, sooo many people queuing up to get in, it took ages to push through the crowds. When we came back the queue had totally gone.

This was certainly the most fucked up squat I've ever been to, so many fucked people everywhere, the music really suited the place.. This was the most diverse crowd I've ever seen at a squat, it seems that you got all types there.

My friends loved it, its the first squat they have ever been to and they really enjoyed themselves and the music,.. The music was a bit hard for me, maybe the whole squat was just a little too bit too hard. I enjoyed myself tho, but I've been to better squats, but I'm sure people will disagree, but I guess its just a matter or personal taste. I prefer outdoor parties anyway, but my mates now prefer squats.
