what's going on?

We find and arrive at the party around 11.30pm, far too early as usually. The venue is next to Neasdon tube station - a mini four story tower block - an old job centre apparently. Getting in through the rear entrance, we pay a couple of quid and are in. Lovely carpeted building, with clean toilets & running water. On the first floor Headfuk have teamed up with the French techno outfit - Malfaiteurs. (nice to see some foreign soundsystems partying in this country)

Next floor up Twisted/Underground Sounds, Pendulum have a large setup on the Third floor - great light show. And on the top floor a smaller system playing drum and bass. Around 1am, some twat chucks something out of a windows, which hits a parked van. Rozzers are called and evenutally order us out. The systems pack up and 500 people or so are left without a party. (although Underground Sounds kept their rig setup and carried on once the police had disappeared)

A quick call to United Systems, and another party is found..... an old factory in Hackey. .. we get over there within half an hour of being chucked out of the first party. Finding the venue, we walk along a small lane, jammed with system vans. Inside the place is packed. The main room had Cross Bones playing fast techno....Damage Control were upstairs......Tekno Notice from Bristol were in the very back room....and a couple of systems I didn't know their names were also in the building......

The back room was my favourite, although the room was boiling. Not as packed as the other rooms, as I guess quite a few people didn't even realise that they were there. The factory was quite large, and I found a section of the place that was empty - not too good to be wandering around by yerself! Drinks were available, although they ran out around after a while. Interesting place to explore though.

Shame the first party didn't kick off, as the venue was lovely. Second party was nice to make it to - rather than simply going home! Big respect due to all the systems involved at both parties.
