what's going on?

Driving up from Reading to the meeting point was easier than I first thought. Found the car park first time - credit due to my navigator - Jamie. A couple of cars were already waiting when we got there at 11pm. Half an hour and 25 cars later and we're off on the short drive to the site. A bus gets stuck in the middle of the convoy, so the back half of the precession gets cut off. We see the lead cars turn down a small country road with huge hedgerows either side, we drive up the road for a mile or so, before turning down a track. At the end of the track was a corrugated iron building - which turns out to be a 'shooting lodge'.

Inside Kreos Soundsystem have already got going, with some excellent DnB, with MC's over the top of it. The hut is full with people, we notice that sofas are all around the room - very comfy I have to say. The rig was pretty loud, and had quite a nice little light show setup. couple of chilled funky patterned lights projecting slowly around on the wall, a few other faster multicoloured lights, and quite a cool laser.

After a while, some decent techno came on, and quite a few people were dancing. Binary Finary was played a few times - I remember this as I saw them LIVE on Thursday night at Innerstate. Techno stayed on for a while (with MC's still going) before going back to DnB again. I guess most people wanted Techno, as there was a big increase in the number of people dancing when it was on, but I guess everyone was happy with the DnB.

The generator was playing up all night. Someone put unleaded petrol into the leaded genny. This stopped the party for about 10 minutes, but once it was back on the party kicked off again. The generator went out a few more times throughout the night. Causing a bit of disruption.

A small fire was on the go outside, and the sky was starting to get lighter. The view was quite amazing at that time of the morning - green fields and valley's stretched out for miles. We went for a bit of a walk, through a bright yellow field of rapeseed, and up to the back of the woods. Walking back through the woods was pretty hectic - as it was pretty dense.

We managed to find a few spare chairs around the fire, so we sat on them for a while, had a few joints. Had a chat to some of the organisers - who had done a great job of sorting out the evening. Well done! Around 6am we made a move back to Reading. Nice party, no police and certainly one of the comfiest I've been too - sofas, chairs and ashtrays - very civilised!
