10 minutes later, and we have a small 15 car convoy on the go, we head off in the direction of Alton/Petersfield. After about 30 minutes or so, we arrive in Petersfield town centre...sitting opposite a crossroads is a cop car... I don't know what the copper thought was going on at 2am., but I think he left us to get on with it, rather than lead him about on a wild goose chase around the hampshire/west sussex border.
We drive up a road, which turns into a huge hill, driving pretty slowly up it for about 2 miles, we evenutally hit the summit. A small car park is up the top, we pull in and park up. The car park is mostly in woods, but a small grass field reveals some amazing views of the surrounding area.
We help carry the soundsystem up to a clearing in the woods....after about 10 minutes or so and the soundsystem is switched on.. A few people are there, but after about an hour or so, quite a few more people turn up. A fire is quickly put together and the Wobbleberry DJ's spin some good tunes. A minutes walk out of the woods and a short walk up a grassy hill and you could see almost 360 degrees of the horizon all around you...quite impressive at 5am in the morning.
Police left us alone all night, and the atmosphere was very friendly. We had a great time, wasn't expecting to have such an eventful Friday evening, but it all turned out well in the end. Big thanks to Wobbleberry for getting the party going!.
Saturday night and I'm up in Northwich, nr Manchester - I'm standing in a tunnel under a road at 1am - waiting for a soundsystem to turn up - Police drive by
and spot pissed up wankers on the road. Soundsystem turns up, but can't get setup due to one copper sitting in his car 50 metres up the road. Party fails to
get going. I get stranded at a petrol station up the road. No car. No party - doh!
