I’m thinking of getting some fresh mushrooms, I think Im going to get mexicana truffles but as im not really an experienced mushroom taker I just wonderd weather these would be any good?? Basically what would you recomend I have tried the normal variety thai mushrooms so im looking for something a little stronger which ones are the best? :p

the best imo are the local liberty caps, and as far as i can tell, all the one you can buy (mexican, hawaiian etc) all seem to be pretty much the same…you trip out!

personally i cant tell the diff, i find it really annoying that they brand em instead of telling you what actual mushies ur taking.

theyre all well varied. i’d say that the conditions theyre grown and picked and stored in has as much as a diff as the diff strains! they all should contain psiloybin, the active trippy bit, so… i dunno.

i did some “philosophers stones” which i thought were wicked, but loads of peeps have bitched about…

at the end of the day, set and setting are what defines your trip more than anything… erowid.org trip reports will help you enhance the trip.

I’d go with what USE is saying – they all contain the same active chemical anyway. I’ve heard good things about the Mexican shrooms as well though..

can’t help but think though that think the branding, and aggressive marketing was what has led to the planned crackdown – previously nature limited the supply and meant the anti-drugs lobby didn’t see shrooms as much of a concern, now their commercial traffic has led to people (particularly younger teenagers, for whom “hippy gear shops” are often the first introduction to the drugs culture) overdoing things – perhaps with hindsight these should have been an “under the counter” sort of commodity? now the scramble for profit may well have fucked things up for everyone.

These where nicknamed philosephers stone actually, and yeah I completely agree that this is probably why there changing the whole law on mushrooms because of the commertialisation of them, but hey mushroom season is over and I dont no where else to get them from. They are still completely natural though (okay there mass produced in a green house somewhere) and wont give me a shitty come down the next day. 😉

don’t get me wrong I think its brilliant they are available out of season for those who can respect them and you probably couldn’t get them elsewhere (AFAIK only the liberty caps grow natrually in the UK) its just a pity the marketing was done in such a way it created the adverse publicity… in this country if you find a loophole in the law its perhaps best not to be too “in yer face” about exploiting it TBH…

yeah I completely agree, I dont think it is that much of a well known thing that you can buy them fresh though I think alot of people still think magic mushrooms are illeagle all together. which is a good thing because I think they would be exploited more so than they are now.
You would be so suprised the amount of people who have thought I was lying when I said they sold shrooms in camdon.
Im very lucky though for living in milton keynes as although its a big city all the surrounding areas are coverd in country side thus making it easier to cultivate mushies when the time is write. I even have flya garic growing on my door step I just have no idea how to prepare it!! and dont really want to risk it. :p

🙁 Incidently took the mushrooms this weekend and just sufferd a bad case of nausea and threw up!! I coulden’t suppas the sicky feeling it was to intense had to get rid of em!! my friend was also so sick. however my other friend wasen’t and had a brilliant night on them. glad the nausea came before we actually got out! 😀

did you still trip? i have chundered a couple o times on mushies…generally during or after my initial nervousness (happens every time) but usually the hurling doesnt affect the trip too much, afai can remember. sorry to hear your night didnt go as you hoped…

weird tho it may sound, i actually quite like trowing up, not in a “i want to do that again/ a lot” kind of way, more that it reassures me my body does know whats going in it, is working properly and wont take any shit! if i’m feeling shite, “its better out that in”! 🙂

yeah was still tripping had to get on the train to London on the things, got on a virgin train felt like I had just stepped into cyber space. walking through a carriage with loadsa straight people giggling my tits off!! Rekon the trip would have been more intense if I haden’t of thrown it up though!! It just made things seem brighter and a bit wobbly. Didn’t crawl down a plug hole or anything!

yeah if im sick on a pill I no im gonna rush me little boobies off!!! Not an experienced mushroom taker though trying to get into them more. If im gonna get wasted I may aswell do it with something that wont actually do me that much damage. I just cant be putting up with dirty come downs any more. :shade:

naah, fuck dirty comedowns, thats the cool thing about shrooms, you get a “fundown” instead! also, pills made me want to do loads every weekend, but after tripping my nuts off, i really enjoy sobriety and have no inclination to get battered for a month or two, at least!

My come downs just seem to be getting worse these days, dont no weather its the pills that are getting more filled with shit or just my body telling me no more!! Either way I really need to carm it down! I cant even get stoned any more as I get extremely paranoid, whilst in the que I was convinced that eveybody else had a diffenrent ticket to us and we wern’t going to get in!! or maybe that was the shrooms, can that happen?
I went to the fridge by the way!! Hard house night, im really starting to get into it recently I always thought it was just repetitive rubbish but alot of it sounds like techno! or maybe that was the shrooms to!! either way it was dirty stomping shit!! really good! If your not going to a freeparty I recomend going to a polysexual night really happy vibe and exellent music!! :thumbs_up (wots up with the smilies??)
