So I’m pleased to announce that Party Vibe now has a pair of it’s own cryptocurrency mining pools. Whether this is a topic you are familiar with already or interested in knowing more about. We’d love it if you were to try them out, details below. However for any of you who are unfamiliar with cryptocurrency mining, a quick introduction…
1. What is a cryptocurrency?
Cryptocurrencies, which you will have now heard quite a lot about in the media, operate thanks to de-centralised networks of computers as opposed to those controlled centrally by a single entity such as a bank. They rely on this network to share many copies of the same information in order to validate the transactions passing through their network.
2. What is cryptocurrency mining?
Computers on these networks solve mathematical problems as a means of helping validate the transactions mentioned above in return for a small sum of the same currency as a reward. Depending on the algorithm a particular currency has been based on, different kinds of hardware are required to solve these problems. Some like Bitcoin require expensive, custom built hardware known as ASICs designed specifically to solve these problems, while others were designed specifically to be solved by common computer CPUs, graphics cards or even a web browser. Although it should be said that in this category, graphics cards are much better at solving these problems than their CPU counterparts at this time.
3. What do I need to mining crypto?
Assuming you’ve chosen to mine a CPU or graphics card friendly currency such as Monero. All you need is a cryptocurrency wallet and a computer.
4. What is a mining pool?
A mining pool is a means for people to club their mining resource potential together in order to achieve much faster and regular profits. Mining independently is possible and the rewards are greater but much less frequent or predictable.
5. What is a cryptocurrency wallet?
A wallet is somewhere to store your currency. There are several different kinds: online wallets, software wallets and hardware wallets. Generally speaking an online wallet is easiest to use but least secure while a hardware wallet is most secure. All wallets have a public address which you can share with anyone in order for them to send you currency. And a private key which you the key to your wallet and should never be shared with anyone.
6. What are Sumokoin and Electroneum? And why have you chosen them for our pools?
Both we’re forked (a.k.a cloned or copied) from Monero, meaning they operate on almost identical principles although they’ve gone in different direction since. Monero is probably one of the best known cryptocurrencies with a very strong focus on privacy, also very commonly found on the dark web. And many, many times more private and anonymous than Bitcoin which really not very private at all. Regardless we chose these currencies because they are easiest and currently among the most profitable to mine.
So all this aside the address or our pools is finally available below. As I said we’d love to have you visit, try out what we’ve built and let us know what you make of it all. If you have any questions we’re here to help of course. Happy mining!

Note: Any of you interested in supporting the running costs of our websites without having to make a direct financial contribution might consider mining with either of our pools using our wallet addresses:
This is to let you all know that because we’re changing SSL certificate provider next month. A change which should be completely transparent to all and cause no problems at all. There remains the small possibility of client side certificate pinning errors which might prevent some users from accessing our web site(s). The screenshot below is an example of the error in question.
And the following explains how to fix the issue on the client side if the problem does occur.
If any of you have a problem by all means drop us a line at our regular email address:
Thank you and our apologises for any inconvenience!
There was a problem with a web site theme upgrade to our web site a couple of days ago which caused it to become unavailable for a while unfortunately, made worse by our not picking up on the fact right away. Regardless everything is now back to normal. So our apologizes for this inconvenience. However please try to report any further issues should they happen in future to the usual address at email@example.com. Thanks!
For any of you with an interest in these things I’ve just spent the last three days tuning the performance of our three websites: www.partyvibe.com, www.partyvibe.org and www.radio-directory.me. All three have grown bulky and slow since I first brought them online a little over a year and a half ago (so long already?!), so it was time to do something about it. And hopefully things should be greatly improved from now on. I’ve attached a chart showing the change from vBulletin to WordPress and the optimisations I’ve applied. On a side note www.partyvibe.com and www.partyvibe.org have also both started to see significant improvements in their google search rankings and the amount of traffic that brings with it, so here’s hoping the trend continues. Anyway I hope you like these improvements. More developments on similar topics as they happen…
Having done some quick testing over the last 24 hours the first major new feature of our new forum which I would like to introduce to you all is push notifications. So I bought into an application today which will allow us to receive notification to Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer browsers, and be notified on some mobile devices. Triggers are a new forum thread, a new blog post and a new donation. The system is opt-in for anyone who visits the web site. You can unsubscribe by clicking the bell icon and the bottom left of every page. Let me know what you think.
Strictly speaking the problems of the last 24 hours we’re the result of my over hardening our SSL certificate security configuration, sorry about that! But the thing is I’ve been tiring of vBulletin for years already. As a platform the software is going nowhere, looks very dated, upgrades are lots of work when they go well and support is increasingly poor. So after 16 years both happy and sad to say that I’m planning now to migrate us over to new software. More soon as things develop, it’s going to take a while to get this done. But I’ll keep you posted with developments…
Here it is. It’s our 19th birthday this week! Well tomorrow in fact to be exact since www.PartyVibe.com was originally registered on the 8th December 1997 but heh. So. In honor of this day what we’d like to do is invite you all to join our celebration…
As of now all drugs and sex sub-forums, the chat room and forum statistics table are visible and accessible to Member level users and above only including all search engines and fb registered members. The same goes for all banner advertising. I hope you like the change.
For anyone who’s interested I’ve just put an order in for a hardware upgrade to a better CPU and a pair SSDs instead of old hat spinning rust. If all goes well it should go live for us in the next week or so, just as soon as I’ve had a chance to built it all and migrate everything over. Yay!
So guys I’m totally exited about the possibility of our having an annual bash again this year particularly having missed out last year. Whether you’re interested in helping out or playing let us know. I will start chasing up all the usual suspects and maybe a few new faces and a surprise guest or two. And I’m going to check with our man DA see if he’s available to run the show… more soon. Bounce, bounce, bounce!
