when you black out its because there isnt any blood supply going to your head.
I ended up in hospital once after taking too much speed – I stayed up for 3 nights starting off on a thursday, and then on friday and saturday I was drinking and taking loads of pills as well, when it got to sunday morning I felt as if i needed to throw as many drugs down my throat as possible to try and chase the effect, I was snorting huge lines of phet and smoking a massive joint of skunk every 15 minutes until it just got to a stage where i thought ‘wow..I dont feel too good!’, when I stood up to get a glass of water I was in a constant semi-blackout, I could hardly see anything. I stumbled into the kitchen to get the glass of water, my heart was beating as hard and as fast as it possibly could, I had pins & needles in my arms and legs and spreading across my chest – I thought I was going to die!
if somebody told me that i was going through a panic attack then i would of probably been ok but i didnt know what was happening, my head felt like a huge bubble and everything was really trippy and spacious from not having any sleep, my mates were like morons but even they were freaked out to see me the way i was and they decided to phone me an ambulance
At 1 point my heart rate went up to 195 beats per minute, i was paralysed from the neck down for about 30 seconds, my muscles went into spasm. when your heart beats that fast for no reason, your body has a mechanism which paralyses you as a way of trying to bring your blood pressure/heart rate down. the nurse injected me with about 50 ml of diazepam and then I was cured.
1 of the doctors at the hospital told me that when you overdose on amphetamines there’s 2 ways which you can die – the first is to have a brain hemmorage, the second way is by having a panic attack and your heart beating so fast that it actually gives up and stops beating (cardiac arrest)
– it wasnt dodgy speed it was just good speed that i wasnt used to taking
after the diazepam i felt back to normal as if nothing had ever happened, I went home and smoked a massive joint and forgot all about it
I still love speed and take it in moderate amounts, but i’m much more careful – its taken me over a year to fully recover. I’ve had proper bad trips on mushrooms and acid (thinking I’m going to swallow my tounge!) and a bad trip is nothing compared to that experience.
