  • Acidfairy and myself have been talking over the past few months and she has made me realise that my detox diary has helped others to be able to post their experiences on here and get help without others pre-judging them.

I have noticed that a once taboo subject of drugs and especially Opiates and treatment can be freely discussed and people can confess their experiences openly and seek advice.

It seems that whoever is taking the path towards being opiate free they have a wide network of support on here and I personally would like to thank those of you who have offered wise words of support to me over the last few years. I would also like to extend those thanks to others who have shared their experiences on here and moreso for you, the person reading these stories, for not pre-judging them.

I really hope to see more people like the network we have now, supporting those in need of help, even if we only listen to someone who needs advice on drugs, you have played your part. If you can prevent someone from making a big mistake, then even better.

I urge you therefore, if you have a drug problem, a drug issue, or know someone who takes drugs even if you dont and want to ask questions then this is just ONE route of many for information and advice. Whatever works best for you. If you dont like speaking on the phone to “FRANK” then perhaps a chat on the internet. If you dont like computers, but perfer going to see someone then try your local Drugs Action Team such as Turning Point.

Give yourselves a pat on the back. All of you. For you have never pre-judged those who have been honest and open asking for assistance and reassureance.

Thanks to you, Partyvibe is somewhere where you CAN get support.

    Very well said babes..

Glad to hear you are still going from strength to strength and thanks again for sharing your story with us all and helping others see that A) they can share their experiences with us and we in turn can help support them in whatever way we can and B) to let others that didn’t know what Heroin is like really see the true side to it all…

Keep up the good work.. i’m really proud of ya.. enjoy Spain i know you are…

Glad to hear its going well and although it may not immediately seem like it people such as yourself, Agent Subby and everyone else who is using this site for dealing positively with any drugs problems are actually helping keep the rave scene alive….

The main opposition from the rest of society to party culture as a whole (including clubbbing etc) isn’t so much even the noise and mess from unlicensed parties; but the gateway/escalation theory whereby people start on party drugs and escalate their use to the point where they become addicted to other substances, or have patterns of drug use that affect others due to crimes being committed or anti-social behaviour/angry outbursts on comedowns.

There has been 16 years of this now so its hardly surprising non-ravers get a bit angry. It is this issue which encourages the rest of society to support raids, clampdowns and the riot cops to act as much as anything else happening.

Prohibition is a factor but at the same time we need more self regulation and self-control or the nanny state will do the job for us and not in the way we want.

People sharing experiences (good and bad) and helping regulate themselves and advise one another is one of the best ways of limiting harm to themselves and wider society from drugs – its excellent to see this happening on here…

    well said ebabes :love::love::love:

it is very important that those in recovery have a non judgemental source of support in that process and i am proud to be part of partyvibe as it is providing this support

an open and informed discussion of all the issues involved is the only way [in my opinion] that these topics should be approached – for far too long drugs and their various effects have been a taboo subject and this ignorance costs lives

well done to all the people out there [members or not] who are in the process of recovering their life after drug addiction [whatever the drug happens to be – legal or not] keep up the good work and if you need our help we are here for you – all you have to do is ask :love::love::love:

    take care of yourselves

thanks e_babes for letting us know how you’re doing

respect for keeping on keeping on

    onwards and upwards

There’s not really much I can add to that apart from saying that it was seeing your ‘detox diary’ that gave me the confidence to open up to everyone on here with my ‘opiate addiction/detox diary’. I can honestly say in the time I have been on here that I have not once been prejudged on what is in some peoples eyes a taboo subject. Infact I can truly say that the help and support I have had on PV has been far more productive than my regular ‘siitings’ with my substance misuse key worker. So EVERYONE on here deserves a pat on the back.
Thankyou everyone and long may it continue.
    Peace and Love. Stephen.
