Im sorry but this situation is unbeleivable!

5 Girls dead, and the government/local police are still turning a blind eye to the other girls’ habits and just saying ‘please don’t go out’
How ridiculous, these girls are dependant on heroin, iv’e been there and when your on gear you will do almost anything to get your hit if your sick. They wont stop walking for the police or a serial killer…

The detective in charge said on the news today something about offering them free methadone, well ffs methadone is free anyway, and if they wanted methadone they would go get it!

You do heroin a: for the rush/hit and b: bcos ure dependant, methadone is fine if your trying to stay clean/withdraw or detox but not if ure bang on it using.

God this goverment amazes me, even John Snow on C4 news was asking this detective tonight if he was gonna start dishing out heroin for the girls, needless to say he skirted the subject.

The sun has put up a £250,000 reward for the killer BUT NO ONE IS LOOKING OUT FOR THE GIRLS! AARRGGHHH This fukin country, why are we so backward, men have used prostitutes since the dawn of time, why cant we follow amsterdam and legalise and tax it, the girls don’t walk the streets, they have panic alarms direct to the local police station, it’s so much safer for them..

Sorry im angry….

I cant see how they are realistically expecting the girls to stay in – the desperation that drove most of them to be prostitutes in order to feed their habits is unabated.

The question that I cant answer here is why no one seems to actually care enough to stick out their necks and say that the only way to get these women to stay in is to short circuit the need that forces them out of the door to work (when they are surely terrified they might be next)?

Its almost as though they are perceived as being dispensable :you_crazy What happens if this killer cranks up his/her ante and just starts randomnly picking non-working girls? Will they act then? [It will be too late for many:hopeless:] And lets not forget these girls have families too who will be devastated – more victims of the prohibition of drugs and prostitution. :hopeless:

I still dont get why prostitution cant be legal and supervised as it is on parts of the continent – have official brothels where the girls are checked to make sure they are healthy, have access to the support they need, pay taxes and are working in a safe enviroment.

There have been tolerance zones before now where the girls could work without being arrested for soliciting and while they existed [in Edinburgh for example] attacks on the working girls were down to 11 a year; as soon as they were removed the girls are now dispersed all over the city and attacks on them have increased over 1000% [and these are the ones they actually report :hopeless: police are perceived as being the enemy so many dont report the attacks]

I know not everyone wants prositution on their doorstep but this is street side prostitution – why not put them indoors in one or two safe buildings and contain the problems that way?

It is one of the oldest professions in existence and would not continue if there were no demand for the services :you_crazy it is really blinkered to pretend otherwise.

They are perceived as dispensable, not many really give a shit about working girls until they’re getting murdered. If those in power really did give a shit the girls would be able to work in a safe and secure enviroment.
And yes, methadone is only a very small part of the solution and doesn’t help at all for crack use and certainly doesn’t do anything to ease the boredom that comes with stopping using. Perish the thought, some girls even enjoy the work.
At this time the girls in Ipswich should be given everything they need – heroin, crack, their rent paid, xmas gifts for the kids etc etc. Anything so they can be safe and stay alive.

Yeah this one has really got to me, iv’e rented before for my H, I know where they are, it’s crap. Of course they don’t WANT to go out and work, but as youve said they have no choice.

What I meant to say but didnt as I was ranting so much is for all this money thats been put up as Reward, all it would take is to give the girls some money every day until he is caught. I know it’s very unlikely but it’s the only way. No-ones saying give them Heroin, that aint gonna happen, give em the cash and let them score it themselves, theres gotta be a way they can turn a blind eye to what theyre spending it on??

I can’t see any of them having more than £70 a day habit MAX! (plus the crack if they use it) So what is £70 if it saves someones life even if they are prostitues and they probably deserve it and all that ol crap…

If I lived in Ipswitch I would be kicking up a bloody fuss right now

i have already touched upon leagalising it too, an it makes no sense as to why they dont, its been done since the roman times FFS. Time the goverment wise up an realise that what they think aint always best. Straight laced arse holes, the lot of em…….

I understand completely where you are coming from mate but, looking at it from a neutral perspective, how do you think they will decide who to give money out to and who to decide are not legit working girls? I’m sure there would be plenty of people hooked on H presenting themselves to the council pretending they were prostitutes if they heard money was being dished out.

Don’t think I’m being cold or a c**t because I totally symapthise, it’s just looking at your suggestion critically it would be almost impossible to regulate effectively.

Making it legal however is a very valid point. Amsterdam still has instances of abuse and STD’s plus there is still an underground market but it’s been made a lot safer for many girls who would otherwise be risking themselves on the streets.

Yes but what would all the middle englanders and Nimby’s say though!! They couldn’t possibly risk it or they would lose those precious votes.
