is anyone gonna actually go to clubs any more?

“The machine will be used to detect people contaminated with drugs, to stamp out illegal drugs and make a night out in Milton Keynes safer. “

this statement pisses me off cos its not ppl who are on drugs who make it unsafe ITS THE FUCKING PPL WHO ARE PISSED OFF THERE FACES ggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

“Anyone contaminated, but found with no drugs, will be refused entry to the premises;”

wtf its not illegal to be on drugs on to be in possession grrrrrrrrrr

“to take a robust and zero tolerance regime to anyone contaminated by prohibited drugs. “

regime, what the fuck!, remember the law against having fun and laughing is coming into force in 2012

Sod that!!!! could be fun, have to be a bit more inventive with hiding stuff!
    No rubber gloves tho!:weee:

The majority of the clubs in Milton Keynes are shit anyway.

the venue owner still has to agree to the cops deploying the machine on their premises (although I’m sure if they refuse they are put on a “shitlist” of “potentially drug friendly places)

vote with your feet and wallet, either boycott these places, go to free parties or just to your friends houses.

I suspect the rest of society won’t realise what is going on until the pissheads actually destroy the town centre nightlife to the point that the late/24 hour licensing experiment is rolled back..

imo a policy of no smoking, zero tolerance to drugs, and a culture of violent pissheads will make clubs a no-go area for many.

it could really benefit free parties though, if the people let-down by violence etc. go to parties instead. as long as the violent nutters dont follow

I posted about these machines a little while ago when Thames Valley bought one, I read a bit about it and it seems like it is easy to get a false positive. It happened to a welsh MP when they first got their hands on one :laugh_at:

true, but just like a metal detector or a radio receiver it can be tuned to reject excessive signal and pick up what is wanted….

At the moment these devices are too sensitive for something like policing a festival, but as they are used more and more the cops will learn the techniques on how to use them

they don’t cost much more than training a real live dog, and don’t get tired/need walkies/food etc…

the cops had a lot of teething problems with their new airwave radios, but now they are succesfully using them – there is a new breed of copper about these days who is as IT/technology literate as any of us are and willing to use their knowledge to enforce the law.

Not quite robocop, but simply sort of person who worked in an office during the dot-com days but got downsized/made redundant and joined the police…

unfortunately unless parties become more exclusive they probably will, down south there is unfortunately only slightly less “townie violence” at raves than at licensed events..

plus the authorities aren’t stupid. They know lots of people disagree with these laws and will try to break them, and will beef up their enforcement accordingly…

It says they’ll test your wallet etc as well… ermmm what’s the crazy percentage of bank notes that are contaminated with drugs already???

Someone I know went through customs recently and had a swab run over their purse/wallet, it had notes that had been used to snort coke the night before with also there was a lot of residue of coke all over the inside.

Nothing was said to them in customs and they didn’t get a heavy search.

Dunno about UK, but 100% of Euro’s are!

So I suppose the UK would be the same, as we are pretty heavy drug users in general.

I heard you can get around having traces on your hands by simply saying you work in a bank.

that’s shite, think we are quite lucky up north at the moment, maybe it’s time for us to have our turn after all the earlier southern raves!

as a population, government and in general we do seem to be slippin into a real shit, oblivious existance. it’s frustratin that not many people care and those that do are hushed up
