anyone can obtain a pill press and fake stuff (even real pharmaceuticals get faked this way and sold (for something approaching full price!) to people in poor countries) until the authorities catch up with them
the problem now with “good quality pills” or any large increase in the strength of any drugs is that people are used to a certain level of active ingredient.
With todays binge culture and a drop in prices people actually OD and die (happened with the pink kangaroos in 2006 which contained a 1990s level of MDMA!).
When it all goes pearshaped, someone who isn’t a big “drug baron” but someone like you or I ends up not only in jail for a while but having their friends/acquaintances death on their conscience (and risk of reprisal from the grieving family)
the differing quality is no different from any other free market transaction – you get what you pay for.. 10-20 years ago pills cost more but unless the deal was an intentional ripoff they had far more MDMA in them.
