hi
iโm a researcher at university college london, and we are currently undertaking a study looking at recreational ketamine use, and its psychological effects. i have been given permission by the administrator of this forum to post messages to see if any one would like to take part in the study โ a lot of people have already come forward to help, so thankyou! at the moment we are specifically looking to recruit people who take K daily โ if thatโs you or someone you know, then get in touch via this website or on the email below.
the study involves an interview and some cognitive tests and takes about 2 hours. testing takes place at ucl (near goodge st tube), and i can meet with you pretty much anytime โ weekdays and evenings, and weekends. you will be paid ยฃ15 for your time. the study has been approved by the UCL Research Ethics Board, and all information collected about you is held in accordance with the 1998 Data Protection act, i.e. your confidentiality will be assured. also, i think it is important to say that it is not being funded by any pharmaceutical / drug companies.
if this sounds like something youโd be interested in taking part in, let me know and i can pass on more information. you can contact me on this site or at:
ucjtsud@ucl.ac.uk
thanks for taking the time to read this โ look forward to hearing from you
suzanna
I would love to help but unfortunately dunno if iโd be able to find the time to travle down!
Suzanna โ
we had one of these last year too, it was a Justin Grayer asking for volunteers last time.
Now I donโt doubt at all the authenticity or legitimacy of your study, youโve addresed the ethical/privacy issues and UCL is a respected institution that works closely with Britains NHS โ
but how about someone sharing the results from last years study with us, or at least letting us know about progress and fuller plans for what is going to happen to the data?
I think I asked Justin earlier this year and was told that the work was still in progress which is fair enough, but how about another update?
Donโt be put off if the report is complicated and full of med-speak, there are people here who can understand it and explain it to othersโฆ

I echo what GL said:
the results of the last one are of great interest to me as well.
hhhhmmm sounds horsey to me
Is it possible to do Ketamine every day?
:yakk:
yesโฆi didโฆ.made me very ugly i mind and bodyโฆ.
Can be done, thank who ever up there or what ever i saw sense :biggreen:
do we get given free ketamine for this study or do we have to bring our own?
:weee:
:laugh_at:
hi everyone โ justin is aware that people are asking for results of the study he completed, and iโm sure its just a matter of time before he provides them to individuals who requested them. watch this space. iโll email him again just to remind him though if thatโs helpful.
in response to your other questions โ no, this study does not provide you with ketamine. that is one of the ways in which it is very different to other studies which have looked at ketamine use, as we are relying on recruiting people who take it already and sampling this population, rather than looking a short-term effects taken in the lab by โnon-drugโ groups of people.
hope i have replied to all your queries โ any more just keep them coming. good to have so much interest.
thanks, suzanna
