Recently 2 (that I know of) samples of 4=AcO-DALT were sent to WEDINOS for analysis and they both tested as cathinone. These results have both now changed to 4-AcO-DALT.
Here’s a pic of the original results:
Here’s a link to one of the test results: WEDINOS – Substance Information
Apparently WEDINOS don’t answer many question and so everyone that’s tried to get a response has failed so no-one knows what happened here. Both samples were from the same vendor and the only reason I can think of for them to revisit these samples was the vendor got in touch and threatened to sue them or something equally bizarre.
As for making the same, wrong, result twice, some have speculated that they didn’t have their own reference sample to check against and went with the closest thing. Someone said the 2 chems have very similar mass numbers but I have no clue.
The same vendor stocked PARGY-LAD as well and this has also been sent to WEDINOS for testing and that came back as something else as well (I’ll try find the link). I just read that, apparently, nobody but David Nichols has ever synthesized PARGY-LAD, and if that’s true, I doubt very much they have a reference sample for that either and it would be very difficult to get hold of one.
I doubt this affects many results for the much more common drugs but it makes you wonder.
EDIT: The PARGY-LAD tested as AL-LAD and LSZ together.
well shit thats a load of crap that its showing up as all kinds of stuff
pargy-lad just sounds hard to synth

Exactly, not the sort of thing you’re average lab in china’s gonna be able to knock out I wouldn’t have thought. David Nichols is one hell of a chemist and idk but I don’t think a synthesis was published. No-one believes that the PARGY-LAD was genuine but then until a few days ago, no-one believed he had 4-AcO-DALT.
I can see why they “don’t answer questions”; there are already warnings against them from MPs (mostly in Wales but some in England) that they previously ended up being used by dealers as a testing tool for illegal or controversial activity. This is to some extent the same problem Google face with computer security research – it can be misused by those wishing to write bugs/viruses although with computers a bug/virus is always undesirable to the target whereas this use of the drugs testing service would result in a higher purity and presumably safer substance (inasmuch that users know exactly what they are getting).
This shows WEDINFOs is moving a lot quicker than previous forensic science labs and is possibly leading the way EU-wide in NPS identification…
I absolutely agree wit you GL, it’s fantastic we have this service and many other countries should follow and get their own service up and running. I’ definitely not saying the work they do is bad or not up to stratch but if this PARGY-LAD test gets updated to be positive if/when WEDINOS get a reference sample it looks like if the synthesis isn’t in TIHKAL, as these 2 aren’t, then now that both Shulgins books are exhausted, whatever comes next they’re unlikely to have samples of. Could make for a few unhappy situations when something new and worthwhile finally finds it’s way to market.
the people who first synthed it would be the only people to get a ref sample from and that is its own can of worms.
this is a brave new world post shulgin.

as far as david nichols goes he’d be a hell of a guy to work under in pharm or med school if you could keep your alterior motives hidden and then unleash some super compounds on the world. looks like alot of his personal work and research is now in dopamine agonists for parkinson and schizophrenia associated cognitive deficit.
glad someone is looking at agonists for schizophrenia the antagonist antipsychotics on the market now just worsen the deficit.
WEDINOS have now said that the initial results were wrong because they did not have 4-AcO-DALT in their database. If they didn’t have 4-AcO-DALT, they almost certainly don’t have PARGY-LAD and so the results of those tests are questionable in my mind.
They are to be fair being extremely transparent about their operations; but WEDINFOS have to tread carefully as the Dutch have already had funding cut to the (longer established) testing centres in regions where the elected local government contains more centre right / Protestant leaning parties (there has also been a spike in PMA related deaths in those areas).
Luckily the majority religion of the Netherlands is Roman Catholic with moderate Islam being next popular (I didn’t realise this myself until recently) and harm reduction/forgiveness are actually a big part of these religions.
Both these test centres and WEDINFOS remain just within current EU laws by limiting the amount of substances they will process; TBH I do wonder if the reason the UK got the big EU tax bill after putting the sex/drugs industry on the national statistics was that they did not spend the required amount of investigating these “black economy” items with a view to tolerance and taxation; that might have reduced the economic growth but also the tax bill..
