Having been to the excellent party in Ystrad/Trefil quarry; which was potentially bigger than Castlemorton yet pretty much left alone by Heddlu Dyfed Powys (they only attended once IIRC to escort an Ambulance crew that was deployed to pick up an injured person) I am more susrpised there is so little free party activity – with so many places where the din of rigs and vehicles could potentially go unnoticed?
the people I encountered from Wales seemed friendly and welcoming (despite the horror stories I read on the BBC Wales news about random drunken violence being commonplace in places like Swansea and Cardiff)
what about the disused factories? are these guarded or too dangerous?
got the impression (although could be wrong) that the Welsh community was a bit more chilled out about parties than England
BTW I think the welsh govt could adopt its own event licensing procedures independent of England under devolution rules!)
is it lack of resources and cash? maybe in some areas the sort of “easy” IT/Admin jobs which give you the cash to fund parties that we take for granted in the SE England aren’t as plentiful in Wales?
I’m looking in as an outsider; but it just seems so strage that there isn’t more of an underground party movement in Wales with lots of crews, ravers and potential places….
