N e 1 no of the Chav Scum website its worth checking out a bit of entertainment for people on this site I think?
please check it let me no wot u think!
😎
we shouldn’t laugh. we’re all born with the same grey matter, but not the same opportunities to learn and grow.
mind you, burberry!
Was this posted here to suggest that taking drugs can turn you into chav scum?
LOL!
I find the site funny but a bit harsh at the same time
although people get the impression from message boards I’m some sort of “intellectual/scientist” type, TBH I could so easily have gone down the “chav” route in my life…
even if your family do try and give a good upbringing there’s no guarantee you will do all the right things – I only have formal education up to sixth form level and my uni career ended within 2 years in a haze of drugs and a warning to get out of college and stop pissing around with their computer networks to obtain illegal info from the Internet (this was in 92 before it was release to the public!) or they would tell the old bill…
someone posted up a home office report on Squatjuice with a list of juvenile crimes a while back – I read it and shocked myself by realising that in the darker, angrier days of my youth I had indeed done virtually all those crimes at one point or another (or assisted others to do so) – bar violence, sexual deviancy and bicycle theft (even then I still had some principles 😉 ).
The site is funny; but it also has a strong “I’m better than these scum” type attitude. OK when the term “chav” is used to describe people who steal , cheat and cause violence at parties its fair enough I suppose – but there is something about labelling people in this manner just by appearance that worries me.
I managed to get myself back from the slippery slope, and I didn’t end up on some sink estate, estranged from my family and fathering feral kids by different mothers as a substitute whilst going in and out of HMP – but when I see some of the urban deprivation in my city and the lifes that some people lead I realise how close I came to ending up that way.
Even now I stil hate the “intellectual superiority” of lecturers / professors and loathe the culture within formal education institutions (the way they are run, not the students though who are OK!) – I suppose I’m just a chav with a few more brain cells really 😀
yeah I cud have gone down that route I think we all cud!!
I just find it highly amusing that these bunch of low lives are still acting the way I did wen I was 14!!
And also the key thing here is alot of chavs, pikeys, rudeboys or woteva u want to call them are the ones who leave all the mess and cause trouble at freeparties!!
I remember once bein at one in liddlington and a load of burberry clad pikeys tipped a car upside down!! which then made the site out of use as it would cost the council loads to clean up the mess!! genraly the police will say make sure u leave at a certain time and clean up the mess!! and this wud have happend at this paticular party if it wasen’t for the silly bunch of chavs!! sorry guys I dont h8 I just feel sorry for them!! I honestly look at them and think ahhhh the bunch of brainwashed sheep!! :p
oops I didn’t meen to put this in the drugs forum!!! 😀
yes I do understand what you meen, it is wrong to judje people purley on the way they are dressed, I have a few friends who at 1st site u wud think where chavs but like u say they are chavs with “brain cells”.
I think its all down to attitude. I just cant get my head around burberry though!!
know what you mean about “wrong attitude” though – see way 2 many near fights at parties nowadays and a friend of mine had his motor nicked at the ridgeway last weekend which spoilt an otherwise fucking excellent party weekend where even the cops have been sound.
there’s a new site called http://www.chavtowns.co.uk.
Reading is on there twice! 😀 doesn’t surprise me
Lol!!
lol i thought it was quite funny although we shouldnt judge ppl by what they look like i found my self thinkin of certain ppl i know for many of the items on how 2 spot a chav , im sure all these ppl are very nice ppl though , or are most of them just shallow ?
the mainstream media has picked up on the “chav” phenomenon; a lot of sources are defining anyone who listens to urban (dance) music as a potential chav….
curiously a reporter in one of the liberal newspapers was even saying “the chavs are the only ones left with free spirit!” and all other youth are just following normal societies rules
i think the whole chav bit is highly suspect. i appreciate that in some communities there are proper nasty little shits doin stuff over and pissin off folk. but the phrase seems to have come from oop nooorth, where in my experience, the problem is way worse.
as the term has migrated south, it now seems to apply to any one who even looks like what we call ‘kevs’ round here…they arent actually causing much trouble, they just wear clothes that puts them into that category, which happens also to be predominantly working class. as the class divide is more obvious imo down south, it has now become a snobbery, which is shit.
its similar to the asbo phenomenon imo, as they were set up to detain and correct actual criminal behavior, but as the surrey police have been itching to hand em out, one lad in my area can no longer wear a hood, or say the word “grass”. what the fuck.
im so sick of the media latching onto stereotypes, then expanding them to anyone who looks the same -its the same attitude that inspires rascism, which brinngs me full circle to say the burberry seems to be a national front /bnp /football ‘firms’ badge of honour and recognition. but not all burberry wearers know this. confused? me too….
the term “chav” was also used in London – it means a “child or youth” in Romany (gipsy language) – I get the impression its used as a substitute for “pikey” (the modern usage of that term actually means a gipsy who has been put out of their tribe due to anti-social behaviour!) which is more offensive..
incidentally if you look at the chavscum type sites you often see a lot of Asian places (both British Asian places like High Wycombe and more obvious places like Hong Kong and Bangalore) being mentioned; this is probably because young Asians do like cheap “bling”, “designer” watches etc (where do you think all that stuff in the markets comes from? 😀 ) and there is as much (if not more) media hysteria there (some of the articles Singapore newspapers look like they are written by old Chinese in the 19th century) – they already have the ASBO laws out there (SE Asian countries mostly use the UK legal system which they inherited from colonial days) so hanging about in the street is all you can do there.
I find the media hysteria more amusing than anything – TBH most of what I wear does come from “chav” sources like Primark (FFS I spend a lot of my time exploring warehouses, squats etc so I don’t wear anything too flash :D) I do sometimes tuck my trousers into my socks as well – but thats only so I don’t catch them in the chainring when I’m on my bike!
but some of the stuff I see on those boards is rather worrying, there are people our age advocating actual violence against others merely for what they wear or how they perceive them to be… it does come across as showing there are a lot of angry people looking for an excuse for hate, and that is obviously a bad thing.
yeah have to agree there, it is wrong in all cases to judge someone just for what they wear (even if it is buberry) . But I get judged all the time just because I dont choose to follow the mainstream dress and listen to the mainsteam music and I suppose this makes me a little bitter!! But if we judge it makes us as bad as they are!! Too narrow minded to see passed how someone looks!!
In a local bookshop yesterday I saw 3 different books with Chav in the title on the shelf.
Bit worrying to think there are all these people out there with the “i’m better than thou” attitude who buy it to laugh at the people worse off than them.
Saying that, I don’t usually judge a book by it’s cover, but the people labled as ‘chavs’ do tend to cause the most shit in my local towns/citys. So when you spot someone who is paticularly ‘chavish’ you tend to be a bit suspect. Then again on the other hand I know a few people who you could call chavs who are safe as fcuk.
