I’m sure most of you are already well aware of these facts. But some members don’t seem to be, so listen up.
OB know how to use the internet.
OB know about sites like partyvibe.
If you adertise your party on this site, there’s a chance alerting the authorities of what you intend to do in advance.
In most cases parties will only get shut down if there are percieved problems e.g. noise, blocked roads, damage to land etc. However, by advertising on here you are increasing the chaces of OB turning up before you have enough people on site to make it hard for them to move you.
Earlier this year, at a party I was involved in, the OB were satisfied that we weren’t causing any problems, but made it clear that a free party should be ‘invitaiton only’ and advertising an event goes against that.
Partyvibe is a good place to exchange ideas, tips, stories etc. but being too open on any website can lead to problems.
And remember, many OB are just people doing a job. If you are co-operative and well organised, even if you feel the law is confrontational, there’s no reason you can’t carry on.
