nasty stuff – thanka for the warning sadly this isn’t the first time I’ve heard a (true) story like this and it won’t be the last 🙁
there is a nasty streak of criminality on our scene and it has been like that since it started (by that I mean real crime that hurts real people, often former friends – not the “mischief” sometimes involved in free parties to get venues, resources etc that would otherwise be abandoned)
a lot of conmen prey on the fact that few people here like to deal with authorities or old bill and have a more tolerant outlook on life…
you always have to be a bit careful of people these days – sadly the days of idealistically treating everyone at a party as your “best friend” are long gone (if they ever really existed in the first place!)
one thing I will say though; be wary about saying “xxx” is part of “yyy” crew. quite often these scum are hangers on who don’t really contribute to a crew and use the name to big up themselves whilst wrecking the crews reputation when things go wrong. I’ve seen it happen to at least 3 local crews…
