  • I think most people with access to information and the media would say that taking urgent steps to ease the extreme and obscene poverty that exists in this world is important.

But it seems that quite a few people don’t agree.

and it’s not just the big boys who say ‘fuck em’

a BBC news page showed that plenty of jo public felt that the fact that they were simply lucky enough to have been born into a life so rich with opportunity meant that they were excused from taking part in wider society.

If people want to help the Third World, good luck to them – donate to the relevant charities and feel good about yourselves. Personally, I have other priorities and choose not to donate to Third World causes. I resent my government taking my tax and distributing it overseas. This is not what I pay tax for.

Well done to the USA for not supporting the government’s ideas on Africa. Everyone who earns their money should be able to spend it how they see fit. I agree with Ed in Texas.

now, I work fucking hard, live in a modest home, drive an ancient car, have a little money for luxuries like clothes, books, music, a computer…

but although i certainly ain’t rich… I am one of the richest people in the world and i don’t mind who has a bite of my cake, as long they appreciate it TBH

does anyone else feel like getting hold of these people and parachuting them right into the middle of Mogadishu?

    yup.

and i dont think its just the goverment pulling their weight…shell just made 10billion profit, the largest in the history of britain..what the fuck are they doing to reduce the massive harm they’re doing? nowt. bastards

need to spread the wealth…i also recon that we all have too much and it’s corrupting the nation..we should have less, it would do us all good.

and the worst thing is they really believe that they are the ones who deserve to be rich, that they have somehow earned a high paying position and it has then become their right to do what they please.

its pathetic how much money rich organisations give to those in need, if anything at all, think of the tsunami appeal just recently, in australia a fast food company like mcdonals gave about 100 000$ (au) for a countrywide appeal. Yeah it looks impressive if you dont earn that in your life time “lots of money”, but seriously how much profit do these guys make a day? surely more than that.

The greed and fear of losing their “assets”, their bloody money, stuff the environment, stuff considering that there is no known possibility of us getting off this planet once (if) it becomes uninhabital. dont worry about child labour, or downtrodden communities. even poverty is “their own fault”

eh its said, this shit dehumanises people, once they have a “good life” they hold on to it like ticks. there is no tearing them away from their materialistic “paradise”

Come on, that’s a bit harsh on Shell. They did redesign their logo to make it look more environmentally freindly.

why are people so greedy these days? everyone I meet seems to be looking for what they can get out of you.
