  • The police have started using new tactics.

We had a party at the weekend, planned to have directions up by 11.00pm. At around 9.00pm our line was cut off so if you called you would be told “number not recognised” The number did however work if you had the line switched on but this meant answering to every caller who phoned the line, because if we didnt answer it would ring then immediatly cut off the person calling. The line didnt become active until 5.00pm the following day. We were linking up with another sound system who experienced the exact same problem with their line.

Subsequently we have changed our line to attempt to prevent this from happening in the future.

Were thinking as it was Glastonbury weekend this may well have had something to do with it although our event was nowhere near Glastonbury and a private birthday free party not in violation of P.E.L

Also I read in another thread that OB DO ring lines on the night in an attempt to find out where the party will be to try to prevent it from happening – This is definitely true as one of the calls (from a private number) was a oldish guy, very well spoken, who said as we answered, “errrrrr oh, sorry, errrr i must have the wrong number, i’m looking for my son errrr…..” line goes dead. 2 minutes later the “Witheld” number calls again, and again, and again.

PULL THE OTHER ONE OB . Were not that stupid!! you obviously are as your ringing the line when you’ve cut it off!!!!!!!!
