Was reading the usual news sites and crime reports when I found this report on Sussex Police traffic units catching people who are speeding – there was a link to the website where they mentioned the amount of high performance motors they have.
cops have been doing this for years (and these unmarked traffic vehicles are often used at raves) but what is new is that they are sharing the unmarked vehicles across neighbouring forces. (probably a morale-booster for the cops, who get to drive more of the nice motors).
they are actually quite difficult to spot now as obvious stuff like radios etc are concealed and you don’t realise until blue LEDs start flashing out of every corner of the vehicle
At UKTek wales there were a lot of vehicles like this about (some with uniformed officers, some with CID). There were certainly two welsh forces as some friends spotted one vehicle miles away in Swansea yet the party was being policed by a different force!
I would expect they are making use of the camera kit more than looking for speeding drivers… they are also deployed to legal festivals just to watch people and monitor movements (I’ve seen TVPs covert vehicles at Reading festival – watching pedestrians – they are hardly going to be breaking the speed limit on foot!)
however traffic violations can be used against everybody on the scene – as cops can claim “raves make people drive dangerously and are a hazard”. so its best to ensure your cars are legal and not to drive like a gary boy around raves (for your own safety as well, as there are lots of sketchy people about on the tracks)
Oi Nobber. Moral booster!?! Do me a favour.
Its called “mutual Aid” they borrow our stuff, we borrow theres. Nothing new in that at all, been happening for years.
Hey, its not a big new plan, its been happeningh for years. Its called mutual Aid.
The unmarked cars, well, probably they are nothing more than pool cars / CID cars – all that is left as there is not an infinite number of available vehicles, marked up or otherwise!!!! Nothing special about those cars at all, just getting police mobile and on teh ground in naything they can lay there hands on you silly person you.
There isnt any great conspiracy, so I’m afraid you’ll have to look elsewhere to uncover the great secret masterplan!

never said it was a conspiracy theory – just that there were far more traffic units checking out raves these days! in our area it was just the local ones rather than out of area cars…but its hardly surprising as the rave scenes been linked with illegal cruises etc.. and theres always a few boy racers on the scene whom the cops would want to make an example of…
people nowadays know (or should know) there isn’t any big “conspiracy” – but its out in the open now that there is a bigger crackdown on raves as they have been going on for 14 years without being stopped!
its a simple fact that raves are noisy, piss “normal” people off and there isn’t money paid into the tax pot like with licensed parties. So the the cops try whatever tactics they can to make free raves difficult for people to put on – all we try to do here is warn people of potential dangers. This site gets a lot of newbies to the scene who come from the licensed club events and many are not aware of the extra risks on the free party scene.
you seem to be wanting to encourage raves, but taking a fairly confrontational attitude though on here (which you do not need to do…) and hiding behind the unregistered logins…
what’s your agenda?
true that
it’s hard to imagine all the hard work and risk that organisers put into throwing a free party when you first discover it
why should people think there’s any danger? after all, a bunch of people dancing and having fun in a remote spot or un-used building… what problems could there be :good_evil
