This years giginthepark promises to be the best yet. Held at Halesworth Town Park Friday 5th – Sunday 7th August 2005 it is now an established event on the regional music scene. Following last years sell-out which featured headliners The Stranglers interest for this year’s event is at an all time high with hundreds of bands wanting to get involved.
Confirmed headline acts for this year include, on the Friday, a welcome return by Ska legends The Selecter. After their show stopping performance last year the band were so keen to return they have interrupted a European tour to be at the gig, and will be jetting off to Stockholm straight after to play a festival the following evening!
Also appearing on Sunday will be Folk legend Michael Chapman who is well known on the Folk circuit with an amazing back catalog spanning some 4 decades.
In addition there will be a full programme of local bands across two stages, and a great evening of local DJ’s in the jungle tent on friday night, plus the usual fantastic festival atmosphere, site entertainment, extensive bar and catering.
tickets went on sale on the 27th june and are already selling fast with punters from as far away as Canada and the US buying tickets online. Last years event was a Sell-out and it looks like this year will be too so don’t delay, get your tickets today. For ticket details click here
aturdays headliners are Punk legends the Buzzcocks whose back catalogue spans back to 1977 with hits including Harmony in my Head and Ever fallen in love which was recently included on the soundtrack to the movie Shrek 2.
