This month we are very excited to bring you, probably one of the best beat boxers in the land. He has been blowing up clubs from Ministry of Sound to Cargo, appeared on adverts for Nike and Motorola, and is a damn nice young man too.

September is 1Xtra month. After bringing the roof down last time he is back for another 1xtra /Def Jam special playing the smoothest RnB and party rocking hip hop around.

The UK, particularly London, has become a hub of often unnoticed urban talent. From clothing companies, to DJs and MCs, the UK is a place that has fostered unique styles and genres fusing both US Hip Hop and UK street cultures. We will be holding a special night celebrating these UK talents.
UK on the Decks: Blakey is one of the UK’s hottest DJs and to celebrate the launch of his new show on 1xtra the boy wonder himself will be playing a special set of ‘hip hop from every angle’. The Definition every Tuesday 12-2am BBC 1Xtra.
UK on the Mic: Alongside him we are very pleased to have one of the UK’s best MCs, performing a medley of tracks. Sway has been hailed as the UK’s leading ‘urban’ talent and has been tearing up virtually every club and radio show the UK has. With praises coming from every angle including the likes of 1Xtra and nearly every press publication around this night is a must.

Oct 28th- Special Guest DJ Big Ted (Kiss FM/TV)
Big Ted joined Kiss100 FM to present two weekly hip hop shows with DJ partner Shortee Blitz in 1999. Five years on, the show has a massive listenership, plus a clutch of awards and nominations – Best Specialist Radio Show at the Sony Awards, three consecutive Best Radio Show Awards at the UK Hip Hop Awards and Lyric Pad – Best Radio Show 2004, to name just a few.
Big Ted will be joining us to bring his unique style of party rocking DJing to the decks. As ever don’t miss out!
This night has become the bench mark for all west end Hip Hop, R’n’B, and Bashment ‘block parties’. Boasting a vibe that no other can compete with, it’s no surprise that previous guests have included legends such as the Rock Steady crew.

We are now running early evening dance sessions. To reflect the Getdown’s party vibe and musical mix the session include everything from booty shaking to breaking, these classes have it all. So come watch, learn, train, throw down and most importantly have a good time.
