not long left now,
Remember still free entry all night
bump raaa
will be on my way there tonight
I think the Happy Chaps will be joining us as well (not the “Happy Chavs“as I thought they were called
sorry – having a bit of difficulty getting used to the local accent (or I was probably pissed when I heard their names being mentioned))
was quiet but still good (lots of people had been to the happy nation party in London the night before and were fairly knackered 🙂 )
A freind of mine normally has nos there but wasn’t allowed that night, so we all chipped to a party. How many people from here go to nights (although there arn’t many) round ipswich??? I didnt think there were that many party people that i havnt already met from/around town. We went to the loft that night before hand, bit small but kind of grimey.
I’ve only moved here about a year ago and not by choice (used to live in Reading, but my employers downsized)…
I’ve met a few people but get the impression that lots of people have busy lives (and sometimes young families) and weekend jobs which makes it harder for them to party regularly – plus its a huge great area so transport availability and costs can be an issue.. there seem to be only a handful of decent legal venues here in Suffolk (WTF happened here to make the cops go so heavy on zero tolerance?)
Dont think there was one particular incident really. I’ve only been going for a few years so i might be wrong but i think as suffolks supposidly quite a wealthy area, theres lots of wealthy/ influential people pulling certain strings? Partyers here are no worse than any other counties.
On the flip side- http://www.eadt.co.uk/search/story.aspx?brand=EADOnline&category=News&itemid=IPED10%20Feb%202007%2011:36:54:093&tBrand=EADOnline&tCategory=search
Last week i read that suffolk police had to make some cut backs to save cash, including axing expenditure on “pro active policing of illegal raves”. Just read that although they’re receiving some extra funds…… that most cutbacks are still going ahead, including that one! PHAT
(p.s- are you commin to studio3 2moro?)
this is true – but where I used to live (SE England/ Thames Valley) had a similar situation and although there was a bit of a backlash and a few violent shutdowns of parties it never got quite as bad as in Suffolk.
Perhaps though it might be the case that farming is even more of a major contribution to to the economy here than in the Thames Valley (which is actually a fairly small area with a lot more urban areas) so outdoor raves are perceived to cause more damage?
also I fear there are a lot of “ex-ravers” about my sort of age who frightened themselves because they overdid things “back in the day” and feel that by supporting more restrictions they are “protecting the youth (particularly their own kids who may be now pre-teens or teens)
that still leaves £130,000 for dealing with illegal raves (there is a thread on this elsewhere)
whats on there? TBH if I do go out tomorrow (not sure yet as feeling a bit unwell) it would probably be to my mates drum and bass night at the silver star…
b/kan are doing a night there, gets pretty crowded but should be a bit of selection as all 4 rooms (if you can cal them that) normally cover different genres. If you go down the star (and i have time, 2moro will be a bit hectic) ill drop in and say hello. either way have a good one.
ill be addding the new flyer in a sec
