i really need transport to more raves, would love to go to loads this summer but i will be 17 in october… i could get a moped but not really practical as i would have to keep off all motorways, and thats pretty impossible to get to south yorkshire from here….
n public transport is expensive (trains like) and goes to cities, not the middle of nowhere!
whats the usual way for non-drivers to get places? ‘cos some of my mates drive, but not many who are into the free party movement. tis a bugger really!
any suggestions?
hope ur all havin a good week so far! raaa
I still don’t have a driving license (nor can I currently afford to run a car, the mortgage takes up a lot of my money  ) so either do warehouse parties in city areas or get a lift with raving friends (but I always sort them out with petrol money and other help that I can give).
For many years I would help out crews so would always get a lift there, although it was often in the rig van (which meant occasionally being stop checked)
if you’re still young and enthusiastic you might be able to befriend some crew people who are willing to take you to parties in return for helping set up and pack down; bear in mind though you will be there from start to finish and won’t be able to leave early due to work/college commitments, this can be quite hard on mind and body.
When I lived in SE England a considerable amount of raves were within cycling distance – although 25 miles wasn’t a problem for me I am no Bradley Wiggins, I just built up my fitness through cycling to and from work every day. When I got to the rave I used to hide the bike in a friends rig van to keep it out of the view of potential thieves.
(NB: make sure you have good lights and are confident cycling long distances!)
i couldn’t really bike – the distances from up here to south yorkshire, derbyshire or lancashire (there isn’t a scene up north yorks unfortunately) it’d be like…. 90 miles, many more probably. also biking down motorways is illegal innit?
i’ll have to get in with a crew. tbh a few of us was thinkin of startin up a local crew next year, when all my age mates get cars n no school n all that. maybe kick off a scene in north yorks, as there are loads of good places for raves.
You’re just gonna have to be patient boothy.
Until you get our own transport you’ll be dependent on other people.
Best way is simply to party, get known, get friends and the rest comes natural like.
Good luck babe, don’t panic too much tis all coming to you 😉
