This was a spotr on party!! The location was absolutely amazingly fantasic!!! Saw some seals in the morning which was cool!! Loads of people there great vibe! Community support officers were walking aroung the party for alot of it but was ok they were freindly enough! There was also a camraman there from the local news! We tried to make him feel as welcome as we could he seemed to enjoy himself, always had a big grin on his face.
All around brilliant party!
Shame it was so far away to travel for me though but def worth the treck!!
did you go East by any chance? :groucho:
Yeah i did you go down?????
nah unfortunately a few of my mates couldn’t make it so couldn’t get a lift – but glad to hear you experienced the atmosphere of an East Anglian party 🙂
I’ve heard that the BBC camera operator is a decent chap, but bear in mind he has to answer to his bosses and editors to keep his job and their angle on raves isn’t always as complimentary.
Be careful what you say to him, and remember that on most video cameras there is a red light called a “tally light” which indicates whether he is recording – unless he’s been crafty and switched it off (which you can sometimes do in settings) or taped over it.
ave it norfolk .we owe it to ourselves innit:love:
well I’m probably about the same age group as you, I’ve been raving since 1991, partied in London squats, warehouses in SE England and the outdoor events of the Ridgeway and various other places
when I moved to East Anglia in 2006 I was a bit sceptical about all the claims about the “Norfolk” Scene, but I didn’t believe a lot of the rubbish chatted on other places and approached it with an open mind..
I won’t say the parties are 100% perfect (the “production values” are like what parties were like in SE England 7 years ago) – but compared to many regions the atmosphere is a lot better.
You still get a few idiots and a lot of ego/politics amongst crews but by and large the party people are friendly and happy
earlier this year I went to a barn party after studio 3 with some quality people I met from here and at times I almost felt like I was 18/19 again, experiencing parties for the first time (and this was before I had taken anything)
now as is probably clear from a lot of my posts on here I am a cynical old bastard with a lot of my wider social/political views, so it would take a lot to make me feel like that….
I still feel to an extent that I’ve regained my youth when I’m at a good party round here.. (and that would be the “third bite at the cherry”, so I’m not complaining!)
yeh it is a pretty good scene around East Anglia way thoe I aint really been to any since the end of 2001 apart from a small un up near Sea Palling Norfolk in May 05 one of them I went to in 2001 was called mr Pitts up Fakenham way and I was there with a mate whos a quite ranking Emergency service person(I wont say what service just Bethel street should do,Keep them guessing)and he was off his head and had to hide in my truck as loads of his work buddies and a couple of his superiors turned up to check that certain regs were being followed as they were looking for an excuse to shut it down which they didnt find HA HA FUCKING HA!raaaraaaa quite good nite as I recall:love:
:bounce_fl what a party!!
the location, vibe, people, music was brillant!
got there just as the sun was rising and it was beautiful , the beach had loads of people on it dancing and relaxing, chilled out here for while before i explored the party
full of happy, chilled out people no trouble with any one
the crepe van was really nice as well, cheers for that 🙂 and the tea…and the matey further down the track selling tea :weee:
the parking was bit dodgey though,,,people parking in the middle of the track when they realised they couldnt get down further :you_crazy wouldnt of been any help if there was an emergancy…
the old bill side of things though went very smoothly, had a chat with them and they knew they couldnt close it down, and as there were no problems they said they were gonna let us carry it on :weee:
perhaps they are finally realising free parties arent a crime or anything bad, but a way of uniting everyone for a weekend/night of freedom raaa
maybe if people can work a bit more on sorting out parking problems and minimising rubbish/damage we could get to a situation similar to that in other countries, where small but well-run raves in some areas are tolerated…
was a good party, was hoping for more rigs to be there, but it was probably for the good. noise levels from a distance were at a minimum and the mess could have been alot worse.

would be good to see whatever footage that old boy took!
I hope that venue doesn’t get rinsed too much (and therefore locked down) before the real summer, it would be beautiful when the air temperature is still warm at nighttime to offset the cold winds from the North Sea (aaar)

Aaaah Horsey gap ,my mother lives not 3 miles away from there I used to park up there quite a lot I didnt realise that you were talking about that area until I looked at the beeb news report its the same un I was at in 05 the Sea Palling area,I might add that theres a good boozer there The Horsey Nelson(or it used to be)raaaAnd one more thing theres some excellent mushy fields around there within a 400 hundred meter radius in fact Ive had some great picks there well all around that area Potter Heigham, Martham, and over Wroxham way :weee:
another news report here…
Yeh we can safely say that now its been on the news that will be the end of that and if my memory serves me right its North Walsham old bill that are responsible for that area which are not a bad lot compared to the tossers at Great Yamouth or Norwich.
didnt make this one when i heard which rig was commin out, then definately decided against it wen i heard that only 1 or 2 of their scoops were actually working. 3days of constant back to back hardtek and hardstyle from grandaddy funk doesnt rely tickle my fancy.. live rely close to the venue so yeh i no it was a fat location, one of norfolks best spots i reckon, that i’ve bin too anyways. definately hear the comment on the bbc dude GL, yeh he seems like a real nice guy and had positive reasons as to why he was filming but no ones ever gunna c it from our point of view completely so dont be bait wen being interviewed! oh and check ur not walkin round with a polo nose too…!:bounce_fl :bounce_fl :bounce_fl :bounce_fl :bounce_fl :bounce_fl
