…last couple of times i’ve taken ket at a party the dj’s have played this really crazy kind of music. its a bit deep housey, quite slow, but it sounds kind of crinkley, with not much else going on. i’ve been too muntered to figure out to ask them what they are playing, and i’ve no idea how to go about looking for it.

i know it sounds like its just the drugs (and it probably is to some extent) but most times i’ve taken it i’ve not heard music like this, just the last couple of times.

anyone got any ideas, or is it just the drugs?:crazy_diz

certainly the music earlier on that night is what i would think of as psy trance (kind of like stuff on platipus records a few years back, but harder and faster)

nah, not dubstep, wasn’t really dubby tbh. not sure what speed garage sounds like – isn’t that girls music? 😉

i think i know wht your on about but cant quite find out wht it is aswell is the sort your on about have a kind of poppy sound aswell with a wierd crazy flow and good beat? dunno if tht made sense lol

No what you mean i was completely lost when i started mixing. It takes time to be able to define between a few of the genres (as so many merge ect!)

minimalist sub-genre of Techno music, is characterized by a stripped-down, glitchy sound, simple 4/4 beats (usually around 120-135 BPM), repetition of short loops, and subtle changes. Related styles include Detroit techno, ambient techno, microhouse and tech house.

around 125 bpm i reckon, no way techno kind of speed, much more like house. it was kind of like a cross between minimal techno, deep house and psy trance. just listened to a psy trance mix and it was kind of like that but a lot slower, not as hard beatwise and stripped down of all the other fiddley wibbley noises.

Im with GL in that i reckon its possibly “Tech House”.

^^^ is teethout radio. They play Tribal Tech House.

As pointed out above Genres often blur into eachother so its hard to nail it.
