  • how much is a portion of fish and chips in your area?

Here in East Anglia its about £3.70 depending on fish species… curious as I’ve heard prices are rising due to fish becoming endangered and (at last!) bans on horrendous practices like bottom trawling..

    about the same

fish prices are becoming much higher

one chippy near here only sells ‘sustainably caught’ fish raaa

Staying near the humdrum town of Lytham at the moment and it bloody smells of fish everywhere.

          Hi everyone.

welcome back AS (although thats probably a bit of a come-down from India).

And unless I am looking at a duff map, Lytham isn’t even that near the sea! (didn’t it get “merged” with another resort town?)

Nah mate Lytham is right on the coast. On the map it does say Lytham St. Annes but ask the locals and they don’t even know such a place exists.:you_crazy
I think it’s to do with pure out and out snobbery because Lytham is very posh and St.Annes isn’t.
The headlines of the Lytham Gazette last week was ” Vandals set fire to a pile of newspapers outside a newsagents”
Let’s hope the cctv catches the rascals the newsagent wrote in.:groucho:

          Dunno if this is true!!!

Googles map is duff! Its showing St Annes on the Coast and Lytham further inland by the M55 :hopeless:

          http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?oi=eu_map&q=Lytham&hl=en

at the time of posting this (2007-05-15) thats at least 10 miles out, a fairly horrendous clanger! Good thing I wasn’t using that for serious navigation!

          Microsoft shows it correctly.
