  • on this forum you can find

    – details of people from various rigs who have decent kit and do hire outs
    – detailed info on how to get a TENS
    – lots of ravers of all backgrounds and age groups from East Anglia – from teenagers to seasoned old skool ravers who want a party

now is anyone willing to put in the effort and try and do an “underground but legal” event here? Planet Yes have already succeeded, I’m surprised no others have even tried..

and if you get stuck on the license applications you can also get advice as people here have succesfully applied for them:wink:

thats what skan should do i reckon

How do you go about putting on a party, like finding a suitable place and then finding out who it belongs to? And what do you say?

Message me if you don’t want to put it up on here for some reason!

I don’t know anyone with any kit or rigs… (am pretty new to the scene, and don’t really know many people due to the majority of my friends group being club kids and not really liking raves and parties much)..

I’d love to help put on a party though, even willing to help clear up after and recycle and stuff =] Would deffo like to get involved and help if anyone decides on anything! =]

This does sound like the way things should start heading!

The only problem is convincing the landowner! My friends through a party in their village! The party was GREAT but speaking to one of the organisers he described it as shitting in your on doorstep! although there is alot of space in england there is also alot of people, people who will not be happy tolerating one night of noise so 100+ people can have an awesome night!

Also another problem with these partys is they will cost more and it is likely people will have to start charging a bit more than pound for the sound!

Do you know wheather being able to sell alcahol comes under the TENs licence?

Police will know where the partys gonna be and what its gonna all be about as well and are likely to turn and start doing people for what they can! the landowner would have to take the risk of letting all these people who will be taking drugs on his land!

I may sound critical but to be honest i Do think these parts are probally the way the scene is going to have to go if there is to be scene left!

Careful planning and hard work could make a great party even if it is semi legit!

You need an alcohol license in addition to the TENs license to sell alcohol unless I am mistaken.

This meens you’ll probally have to charge more than £1.50 for a can of stella which i think is a great price! Saying that stella is the nectar of this violent generation! But MY GOD do i love it!

stella is known as wife beater up here….

or in some cases down south- stella act-a-twat, remember the suffolk party where the ob car got done….

yeah arent we still feeling the backlash of that OB car that got fucked

some decent crews from this area lost their rigs because of that :crazy_diz (well it didn’t help matters at all and made the cops more determined to clamp down harder)

Oh, and Eastern Haze were charged £18,000 for the “work” of 3 bobbies (I expect Scotland Yard (who were also present) supplied their CID as a free offer

The cops always get their own back in the end if you try to fight them by force..

there’s a bit of a double think going on there with your point about police turning up and doing people. if residents can hear the party, then the police will doubtless turn up whether there’s a license or not. at least by applying for a TEN you can get advice from environmental health about positioning your rig, what noise levels will be acceptable etc.

when you write a TEN application, you don’t write “illegal rave” as the event description, so unless you have previous, the police will assume it’s just another party amongst friends… one that the organiser’s have planned properly and are confident enough in their planning to go through the ‘proper’ channels.

you can sell alcohol with a TEN. if you buy cans whole sale, you can sell them at £1 and make a profit. and not get done for it

a TEN costs £24. hardly a reason to start charging on the door

as far as shitting on your own doorstep… if you invite people you can trust and not a bunch of twats, there shouldn’t be any issue.

the first parties i went to were the tail end of the free festival scene… i was a kid and my mum didn’t take drugs. she felt safe taking me because although there were people taking rugs, that wasn’t the focus… the focus was music, having fun, meeting interesting people, promoting constructive ways of living.. there are still free parties and small festivals (which are free if you contribute) like that… but they are in minority. free parties got more and more diluted (and almost taken over) by drug consumerists who are deluded into thinking they have some point about freedom to make by fucking off everybody who doesn’t want to listen to shit trance full volume while frying their internal organs on ketamine.

the only reason it’s hard to find landowners willing to help out now is because so many have had bad experiences, or know neighbours who have, from people breaking into their land, shitting on it, trashing crops or warehouse, and leaving again.

the TEN was a gift horse to the more sorted party crews, but paranoia prevailed and following the last 12 months of unbelievably fucking stupid behaviour from a few crews and party goers, government are talking about removing this simple way of turning your party into a well organised, completely legal event as some police forces see it as a potential way for rave crews to get around the law 😥

every inch this scene has been given, a mile has been snatched (by a few, visible people). a few years ago i posted our partyline on the internet. now i wouldn’t tell anyone about our events that i didn’t know in person, or through music. there are just too many shit kickers who want to call themselves alterntaive / raver / anarchist, but are actually just losers worse than the violent townies i used to try and get away from…

i live in an estate with a section 30 dispersal order on it and i get on better with a lot of the football-shirt wearing sun readers than people i’ve met at some raves… :crazy_diz

the first time you apply for a TEN it feels like getting into a carload of vampires. it’s actually no different to organising a party well in the first place
