  • Anyone think itd be a good idea to have a thread about game reviews?

basically members write short reviews on games they have played whether it be on a console, mac or pc etc 🙂

itd certainly help me out when choosing games!

nice one mate i was thinking the same thing!

I’ve just completed a game on the PS3 Call of duty 4.

It’s an amazing game and when played on a lcd tv even better.

You play as an SAS trooper then a US marine battling through proper detailed level and the fighting is absolutely ferocious!!

I could go on but you gotta see it for yourself heres a trailer of it.

        It’s really beautiful.

        But damn difficult too :get_you:

Ah might have to look into that,

I am currently play Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition….. Its a great game and the controls work really well for it raaa

keep it retro, phantasy star on the sega master system 2 is the greatest peice of technology ever made, even by todays standrds its betete than many rpg’s if it had todays graphics it would be un stoppable so uncomprehensably ahead of tis time BEST GAME EVER!

Yeah COD4 is a good game. Will play that round again soon.

Playing Assassins creed at the moment and it’s pretty damn sweet.

        Assasins creed (xbox)

good game, except … way to much talking and video sequences at the begining. to many buttons to remember (even for xbox fanatics), the text telling you what buttons do what appear and disappear before you get passed the second word proving useless. other parts of the training are frustrating and in the 30 mins of training to even begin the game, coversation soon turned to which subway each person in the room liked most. i was really looking forward to this game and truly feel disopointed.

gameplay is good, with hd this game looks sharp and well thought out, ubisoft have gone to a lot of effort. the objectives can become annoying and climbing towers to reveal parts of the map gets $£%%£” annoying after the 10th one.

i must say the ‘leap of faith’ looks awesome. in parts of the game the player gets to jump off walls into hay bail like things, the video sequence for this is like going on oblivion at alton towers, pure vertigo.

this review hasnt really been a review just slagging off, not a great review at all with only a few points highlighted as decent.

it is a good game, but like i did, keep the reciept.

        Bioshock (xbox)

in this game you are in rapture, a crazy underwater city which graphically looks good and a lot of work has gone into it.

gameplay is good, players are able to use standard weapons such as semi auto, auto machine guns all the way through to wrenches and napalm throwers, players can also use plasmids, skills like being able to throw ice, fire and … bees. story line is your helping an irish guy find his family, the cities gone all balls up and theres nasty things running around everywhere, throughout the game you need to gain ADAM, gained from either harvesting or saving little sisters (basically little girls in the game, saving all of them throughout the game gets you a different ending to if you kill/harvest them) but! this aint so easy as their closely guarded by bouncers … nail gun weilding giants in ye’ olde deep sea diving gear … top stuff. theres twists and turns in the plot and dont exactly trust whos telling you what to do …

        Medal of honour Airborne (xbox)

Gameplay is good, some people say this game is short but frankly they must have played it on easy because hard keeps you going for longer than people are giving the game credit for. levels are good, in this game you can land anywhere on the map, this is awesome at times but at others when it goes wrong you just get shot to sh*t before touching the ground.

best gun is the mp40, all the american ones suffer from horrible recoil and a tendency to get you killed.

good game but in my opinion ww2 games are now becoming a bore, although im a fan nothing more can be done to improve them, bring on call of duty 4.

        Call of Duty 4 (xbox)

visually it is great, the sounds are spot on and the gameplay is awesome. this game has really taken war games to a new level. single player is great, online is truly addictive. the missions are different and your never short of something to look at and be happy that its been thought about and researched.

        a truly outstanding game.

take into consideration this reviews are done in my opinion so may prove useless to some, little more helpful to others.

Mass effect for the 360. If you like RPG’s and space game i’d recommend it to you! I played on it from 9pm last night to 6am, It was bloody hard to put down the controller!:you_crazy

I’ve said elsewhere on the forum that I didn’t get in to Mass Effect. It’s blatantly a good game for the right person but I found the combat mechanics a bit clunky and space rpg’s don’t seem to agree with me anyway. I prefer stuff like oblivion.

Kane & Lynch is a good game but FAR too short. I completed it in about 4-5 hours. The storyline is quite good too but both endings are utter crap and leaves you feeling like there was no point making the effort in the first place.
