HI all i have an LG surround sound system and i think sub is nacked, however it still works, still makes sound but its shit an tinny. if its blown should it make any sound? pleas help me!!!! i have 5 days left on the warranty thank fuck. Is it dead or ?
TAKE IT BACK………………..
The sub bass unit will only reproduce frequencies below approximately 200Hz…as frequencies below 200Hz, are only produced in mono rather than stereo, which is why you only need one sub bass unit…
The surround sound is reproduced by an in-built sound processor…So if the actual sub bass speaker has not blown, then it will be a fault in the amplifier…most speakers can be taken out of the housing and checked for rips or a loose wire, but if it’s all under guarantee, then take it back…Also, have you checked that it is all wired up correctly, it is easy to make one little mistake!….good luck!!!
a blown speak wil make a sound. A crap sound. Take it back.
well i took it back got it fixed and now after about 3-4 hours play time its stuffed again? im not shour as to wot they did to fix it. and they shut up shop till mid january. not fukin happy!
had problems with my old one like that, think it was down to blaring it on full and thermo was cutting out, got more and more sensitive though so in the end it’d cut out at quiet volumes, take it back and try to screw some extras out of the fuckers for wasting your time….
 If you have been blasting your speakers, eventually, the tiny little wires connecting to the actual speaker, will break! When it has happenned to me in the past, then I used to solder it back together, eventually, it would blow again. So it seems they may have only soldered the wires back, when they should replace the speaker unit itself.
But on the other hand, if it only happens after 3-4 hours, then it must be a problem with the amp, possibly the ‘output’ amplifier overheating! Or, the the mains transformer is overheating, but that should be protected by a ‘thermo fuse’ which should blow at a certain temperature, usually 130
😥
yeah well is dose get a fer old work out but it just dosnt sound rite quite dose itraaa ill just have to wait till they open back up i suppose. do you

I am a qualified electronics engineer, so know what I’m talking about…if you don’t know what to look for, then you will wasting your time…as for the repair, it was repaierd under warrenty…the repair was obviously not up to standard, and they must repair or replace, regardless of the fact that the warrenty has run out…the repair was not to standradm and that is that, they must repair it again, otherwise, threaten to go to your local trading standards office, and report them under the sale of goods act…
I would talk to trading standars before you go back to the shop, after all, you have about ten days until the shop opens again…
Hi again, I just noticed you are from australia, so things will be different over there, out of interest, where in oz are you, my dad lives in Wickam, WA…
