considering the recent news coverage is it a bit too on top even mentioning the date and general area of a future party on here? As it could mean that resources are diverted and put on stand by for that specific weekend in that area? Even the smallest bit of information could potentially fuck the party before it even gets going as im sure everybody knows…
I think we’ve gotta be carefull esp in the north about how much info is given out. as they may not view raves as a big issue up north at the mo, but that could change.
A party i went to a couple of weeks ago, which was in a good spot and done by a good and respectfull crew that always clear up and are respectfull to the cops etc got shut down with loads of dogs and cars. Also the chief inspector was there and said they were gonna sieze the rig. Luckily they reasoned with the cops that we would pack up/clean up and fuck off quickly and they didnt confiscate the rig. But it did seem a bit of an over reaction as there were only about 100 people there by then if that…

im just wondering if this is a sign of things to come for this summer? lets hope not.

Maybe there could be private groups added to the forum. You can get the on other forums, all you have to do is request access, and either a mod or group mod can add you to it. The general public cant see that forum.

Maybe this could be useful for keeping certain things out of general view. Im not saying lets talk places and numbers ect, but just for extra security…

how are the mods going to decide who has acsess? ..can’t be like the subscriber bit of the forum as ob could just pay to get in there …

i think this has been dicussed before and it was said that it’d be a bad idea as people may then have a false sense of security and the cops if they wanted could seize the server/site to get the info anyway.

the only sure fire way of doing it would be for the mods to authorise people who the mods already new and then other people would have to get someone else to vouch for them…

I dont think they’ll do it tho…

na that kinda defeats the object of this forum … i would just say don’t post shit on here that gives any clue away to the date place of your party if it isn’t kosha … just pm people you know you want to come .. and they can tell other safe people … same old shit really … “loose lips sink ships” :bounce_fl:group_hug

even getting people to vouch for one another can be infiltrated

If anyone gets busted for any drugs or rave-related stuff cops will invariabley seize their computer. If they have stayed logged in its fairly simple to obtain their login details and access the “restricted” info.

OK the more IT literate may be able to combat this but not everyone on here is a techie.

it just makes more risks for us and more paranoia for everyone when such an arrangement goes tits up as everyone will think “whos the grass?”

Anyway if a site can be proven to be facilitating crime the cops can just get a Court order on it to either get any info they want or have it closed down. As a few of our users are <18 years old they could even play the "child protection" card which can be used to overrule privacy laws worldwide.

there are already more personal methods of communication. The safest is actually the normal telephone (provided its not on an analogue cordless phone) as the cops need to get more paperwork to be able to tap voice calls.

Yeah i see what your saying. Although I think rather than allowing only subscribers, you could just pick people who have been here a while, or posted enough for you to guess who aint OB.

You say it would defeat the object of the forum. But I mean the private part would only be for briefly discussing, oh I dunno, meets lets say as a random example. Like I say, no names places or anything specific, but just not to arouse suspicion.

But, afterall like you say the coppers can just seize the server or whatever they do to get the Info. But I would think they would have to have good reason.

Maybe Interesting to see what other points the mods/admin can give us here.

Considering all this, maybe some threads could do with a bit of moderation?

i allready got a back up plan if i ever get arrested i told my m8 to log on my accounts and tell people whats happened incase po use my computor for the good of evil ….:laugh_at: …. i’m a good boy tho so should be ok :laugh_at: …..

the thing that i keep hearing from older ravers is that the party seen used to be better b4 the birth of the internet … alltho it is good for sharing info on partys it seems to have had a detrimental effect on the rave scean as it is also being used as a tool against ravers by the po ….. the long and the short of it is .. the easyer it iss for us to get info about raves .. the easyer it is for them as well .. that also goes for all the shit heads that turn up to parys as well … alltho in an ideal world we could all phone up yello pages or directory inquirerys and find the nearest rave .. thats never gonna happen in my life time (alltho i hope it does) … and i hate to say it ..but alot of crews need to not tell as many people in such a blatent manner … unless your 12 any your mum bought your sound system for you … then im sure you will agree :laugh_at:

well even that can be dodge .. i meen not every one knows each other irl on this forum .. so either people will get pissed off cos there not in the “loop” .. or po will gain acsess ..depending on how tight the restrictions are …. as some one was saing the other day ..you get po going to raves (legal) in plain clothes to find info on dealers and any other illigal shit going down .. including free partys … whats to say it won’t happen here ? … the more you try to keep the po out of the “loop” on a public forum .. the more you will keep out safe ravers out as well .. as if you don’t know the people then they got no chance … i haven’t realy given a solutio n there .. as a can’t think of one .. but just presented the dilema as i see it:wink:

there is going to be a nationwide clampdown whether people like it or not

Even if some parties still go well they haven’t “forgiven” us for the amount of people what got addicted to various drugs first time round, and now there are still people fucking up on ketamine etc..

TBH I think one reason Norfolk got so much flack is simply because its the corner of a country and ravers from other areas got pushed there as other regions locked down..

the same clampdown would have (and has) happened in similar areas such as Wales

also bear in mind with one of your senior dibbles now brown bread there is gonna be lots of other ambitious cops moving up the ranks – not just his replacement but the other vacancies that get created by whoever leaves to take the GMP chief constable job

they are all gonna want to prove themselves in their new positions..
