  • that is impressive. I grew up in the days when some business computers still had to be maintained at component level so just about understand why it would work (I was once fairly good at coding assembler for 680×0 series CPUs; and even stuff like hardware interfacing which is apparently all the skills that have been lost from the UK.)

Unfortunately just after being put out of University x86 was starting to take over for multimedia use – I then lost interest with the programming side as until late 1990s there was the segment:offset memory that I can never get my head around and my maths isn’t good enough to understand a lot of the principles of graphics/GPU units (these were originally just chips to do heavy maths with rather than produce pretty graphics). I literally only sussed out how computers store negative integers at low level about 3 weeks ago whilst playing around with some Arduino code.

Hehe, try running Windows 10 on a new MacBook Pro 😉 …

It’s simply stunning, you should try it!
