It is not just one racial/religious group stirring up the trouble but a destructive street culture where young men grow up enjoying violence, fighting and its part of a weekend for them – which has been building up for 20 or more years unchecked. A combination of social breakdown and bad role models has made it worse year upon year…
So every group wants to be the warlords, defend their territory, and rob the newcomers/outsiders.
In most situations the “troops” (i.e. Scotland Yard/Red Ken) move in and “restore order” by force (ever seen a full-on met police raid?) but at the moment the raves are a no-mans land where people are fighting for control
Sadly thats the way London is at the moment – crews and ravers cannot afford to let their guard down at any time. At the same time its unfortunately very easy to get in to a mindset of accepting violence as routine at any social gathering 🙁
