exactly. We are also as much part of the “conspiracy” as Dubya et al whether we like it or not, unless people are willing to make changes to their lifestyles and most are not.
Most people accept leaders, hierarchies, the capitalist economic system and are happy with their position in society or realise they can often do nothing to change it.
Particularly in the Western countries or the more powerful Asian countries (not necessarily the largest ones!) people don’t give a flying fuck about oppressing others provided they are OK.
And most of us are, however much we may whinge about other stuff on our lives.
People do only start caring when things go bang in countries and even then if its not on their doorstep and its not their relatives who are being blown up few are that bothered, although they may hate people who are different to them a bit more.
Most dictators / politicians did not seize power by military means. Many were either voted in by the will of the people or gained popular acceptance.
“Secret” socities, corporate quangos, political groups and their members get and keep power because they are disciplined, and have a system of management run by well educated people who sacrifice other things such as friendships, relationships etc to keep the system going, and (apart from maybe a few youthful excesses) they are not sidetracked by stuff like drugs, music and hedonism.
But even if we don’t like it many others are perfectly prepared accept this way of life, at the moment they have more power than the hedonists/hippies/alternative types and they are not going to give away that power.
Harsh but thats the way “society” is at the moment and I don’t see it changing drastically in the future unless more and more extreme things do actually happen..
