everything in pihkal and tihkal is class A……. cept AMT and i have no IDEA how they got round that and am still waiting for a fucking answer after years. MXE is B i think.

they’re still easy to buy for low prices online….

No idea how AMT is still legal either. Its not like its unpopular. I know that the law that covers tryptamines is a blanket analog ban not a specific one like the classification of all but 1 of the chemicals in pihkal. AMT and a few others slip through the analog law.

not enough people have keeled over from taking it or done really stupid things that have hurt themselves or others. A few months ago a woman posted here claiming her son had fatally OD’d on it but then deleted her account and post and I have not seen any Police or coroners warnings about the stuff whereas there are numerous warnings about other substances especially the “branded” packs which could and do contain random combinations of any RC.

In any case it is often harsh on the stomach and the long duration of the trip needs a long recovery time. More importantly RC users (and party drug users as a whole) tend to be intelligent middle class young people with spare time who do drugs for a few years and then often settle down and start long term relationships often even becoming parents by their mid 20s which makes them limit their drug use if it interferes with family or career responsibilities.

What is particularly interesting at the moment is the amount of RC’s which haven’t yet been controlled – It does seem that the UK and most EU governments whilst shying away from decriminalisation of existing controlled substances are now very begrudgingly tolerating a limited amount of what is ultimately legalised drug dealing although they are very closely monitoring usage patterns.

it is not non judgmental acceptance of drug use but a different approach of evidence gathering to assess and control genuinely harmful substances and/or usage patterns by demand reduction. to be fair a lot of the new substances especially mephedrone and similar cathinones weren’t even seen as a criminal justice problem but firstly a healthcare problem and the feds only got involved when people started acting irrationally and becoming violent after doing too much.

Even the traditionally strict Asian nations have are doing this rather than the previous harsh knee jerk reactions fueled by the spectre of colonialism where tolerance of the natives drugs user were used as a distraction tactic by the colonisers (which may also be why some European nations put up with youth drug use as it takes away energy that could be used for other forms of dissent).

What happened with mephedrone was very similar to the early days of MDMA but with the backlash speeded up.

however the big difference was that MDMA had already been made illegal in the UK as long ago as 1985 long before it was widely available, whereas mephdrone was only made a controlled substance nearly 2/3 years after it was all over the country.

It’s a crazy, crazy drug but I must admit I do quite fancy a bit again!

I’d like to know more about this drug too actually.

MXE or MIPT? I’m familiar with both.
