that is certainly true and more so nowadays with all the NPS but another factor may be that I always obtained these in London, the SE or East where often they would have (indirectly) had the benefit of NL’s testing facilities for MDMA and acid (which was not particularly easy to get) was usually obtained from hippy types old enough to be my Dad (the sort of dudes with Proper Beards who had survived the 1970s; when there were equally bad if not worse LSD-substitutes being sold on blotterS).

one difference back then is none of these dealers wanted to be a “plastic gangster” – and many were selective about who they sold certain substances to.

A lot of the older acid heads would also have respectable jobs in the tech industry (including aviation and defence companies) and hobbies like amateur radio so it wouldn’t look suspicious for them to be wandering about at random hours with all sorts of strange equipment on their person (including going far out into the woods as they can get away from interference sources) or carrying out various scientific experiments.
