yeah its nothing t do with drugs….its the whole outdoor freedom t party….no worries…let yer self go under the stars wiv like minded people see….(gets all nostalgic)
I haven’t been to any free parties, but now I know more about them they do sound rather inviting 🙂
Surely it’s about more than just meeting up to get wasted at someone’s free yard- if it was just about that then they wouldn’t have had such a longevity over the years, people would’ve eventually got bored of it.. I think it’s more about having the chance to be around loads of people with similar lifestyles, being able to feel cotched/relaxed in a good atmosphere, being surrounded by new and interesting people & your mates, freedom having wonderful new experiences and listening to other people talk about theirs  Yay.
yeah but in a hypothetical situation right… if suddenly the law was changed so we could party wherever we wanted, have the music as load as we wanted, on the condition that no-one touched illegal drugs, would people go to parties?
Dam right i would! I have been going partying/clubbing with out substances for a couple of months now (including getting pissed) and i have had some awsome nights out. If the tunes are banging and the atmosphere is good you dont need anything.
Last time i was out i couldn’t walk properly for 3 days as my legs had seized up for all the dancing i had done raaa
well that will never happen but ..yes of course silly….:laugh_at: :you_crazy
I think the opposite has happened TBH, compared to the 90s you can get bare drugs at any time a lot cheaper (even midweek), particularly ketamine, and the nastier class A drugs but less people are willing to put in the effort to put on a free party..
good points SL n april… although even if i didnt intend to take drugs at any parties, in that situation, the fact that the freedom to do so would be restricted would still slightly put me off.
parties are about the music, vibe and freedom in my opinion, but an aspect of that freedom has gotta be the ability to take drugs without persecution really? even if you dont intend to take drugs, its still part of that freedom column imo.
i’m not sure if i’m makin much sense really
yes..you are talking bollocks ….again …. :laugh_at: :you_crazy :crazy_diz
you have the freedom to take drugs where ever you go some clubs to be honest are more friendly than a free party. true you might get searched, but so long as you not an idiot and hide them properly your probably alright. were as at free parties the reality of getting stopped and searched by the police not just bouncers is pretty fucking high. There is a kind of freedom at some free parties when the cops dont turn up, but in my opinion parties were they do turn up and there is helicopters flying over you reminds me that we are not free to do what we want at all. if we could have parties and no drugs i would still go just wouldnt be able to stay up for as long!
cheers
it doesn’t really bother me though… can but try innit
yeh but everyone loves to break rules, so everyone would still go and take their drugs on the sly in the corner… just like a normal club
this is the exact situation in Singapore and some parts of Malaysia, the Chinese in particular don’t mind music and noise (it is believed to help spread a positive energy called Qi, and even to frighten away “evil spirits!”) so there are far less noise restrictions than Britain or many European countries.
But would you want SE Asian style drugs laws? (compulsory rehab, long sentences, sometimes even corporal punishment or death penalty!)
definately not, but i wouldnt want a party legal as long as no drugs either – parties are so much more than drugs, but i still like to get messy to the music :groucho:
sorry but this is a silly thread. why would anyone need an excuse to take drugs?? if i want to have a line, i’ll have a line. Isn’t it quite obvious by the fucking huge rig you go to see everyweekend blearing out fat tunes that your there cos u hav a passion for music? the fact ppl like to take drugs at parties is neither here nor there, a party without tunes is no party. a party without drugs is obviously a party???
