ye from what i can gather this happened just outside the barn when we were all packing up .I didnt hear anything about it till the next day .Problem with gas is people do go a bit crazy when they been on it all night (it does nothing for me).:group_hug

Does the gas screw people up then? Never really tried it and if it messes people up i dont want to….

hmm – I’m not a doctor but I suspect its not so much the N20 but the effect of oxygen deprivation involved in recreational use of nirrous which may causes these problems…

anyone with a bit more medical knowledge (raj?) got any thoughts?

the effect of oxygen deprivation is to make you move towards unconciousness: so in order of severity
inattentiveness
poor judgement
uncoordinated movement
complete unawareness and unresponsiveness [coma]= loss of brain reflexes eg to a light being shone into their eyes
brain death

For most people N20 abuse will be self regulating in so much as [as long as they have not put a plastic bag over their heads:you_crazy] if they overdo it they may feel dizzy and/or pass out [a lot of N20 required for this and low oxygen levels].
If they were to pass out they would stop holding the balloon and start breathing normally until they woke up.

The violence described is more likely to be a side effect of other chemicals [alcohol, class As etc] than the N20 combined with exhaustion after being up all night.

:arrow:N2O, like everything else, should be treated with respect – dont take the piss. Take a break between balloons to give your blood gas levels a chance to return to normal and (not incidentally) get the maximum effect out of it.

He didn’t get attacked, a bunch of travellers came and just basically took the shitty staff called laughing gas and just helped themselves.

my mate who was selling it was obiviously kicking up a fuss and they just had a loud arguement. My mate saw that it wasn’t worth it, he had made his money worth as it was the end of the party, so he just left them to the gas.

probably true – but I’ve heard a couple of people I know say they got a bit “angry” and even got into a sort of argument/scuffle after doing a balloon, and these are people for whom this sort of behaviour is out of character…

it might just be that a lot of people at parties seem to be a on a very short fuse these days, whatever drugs they may have taken…

I think this may be because there’s alot of people in this whole country with a short fuse. I know there has been problems at partys (there always will be) but it’s alot less problematic than a night out in the town!
it would be nice if there never was any trouble though!

thing is until a few years ago there was hardly any trouble and there does seem to be an increase in it, its as if the “townie” mentality is getting on to the party scene..

OTOH I’m not gonna say that it was all peace and love during the 90s and early 2000s because it wasn’t – people still had disagreements and shitty comedowns and sometimes even fights but it was seen as totally wrong to fight at a party (people would save their beef for the estates and towns and parks etc)…

I think most people who attend parts DO see it as wrong to fight probally about 98%, that other 2% probally actually turn up at partys looking for trouble! I know alot of people who go out saying they “dont like fighting” but quite obviously love it! I think these are the kind of people who have managed to “slip” into the scene. I will normally try to come up with excuses when these kinda people ask me to take them/give them a line number.
I think it might be a good idea for alot of crews to change their number(as a few have been lately) to try and keep these people away, due to the word of mouth way of going about things (i dont think this would get rid of problems completly though).
Well bring on the summer anyway get rid rid of the wheather issues at least:groucho: :groucho:

I dont understand the short fuse and wanting to fight mentality, i used to hang around with a lad who was a tosser when drunk. If you nudged him he would kick off then smack you round the head with a bottle :crazy: :crazy: Hence why i used to hang around with him and no longer do.

my mates little brother is like it now
and i come from a village that is full of people like that

Its not a bad hit when used as a enhancer with other things but if your gonna do it, be careful it doesnt leave a big hole in ur pocket. They dont call it hippy crack for nothing!
