We stayed on a campsite for a few days after the Tek in a small town in the south. Got chatting to the owner who was in his 60’s about it and he was saying that when he was our age he was forbidden to listen to rock-and-roll and drew parallels with what happend last year – he was telling us how he’d never thought he’d live to see the day when jerry lee lewes played in Prauge!
The Czech’s had been under someone elses thumb for years until the velvet revoulution which started of with the police attacking students and last year triggered a lot of deep and painful emotions with the older population. I’d take that 50/50 split with a big pinch of salt – everybody and I mean everybody I saw on those couple of days last year supported us.
