Being dependent and doing the same stuff together aren’t necessarily the same thing though, I probably only really spend and hour or two with the missus every day as we’re both doing our own thing, I’m making music and seeing mates and she has her own interests, and we go clubbing or even travelling without each other if the other person is not available or interested. But she relies on me to support her during her education and I rely on her to stop me sinking into pure hedonism 😛
I think there’s this whole ‘thing’ in society where it’s considered bad to rely on or be dependent on people and I think thats bollocks, we are social creatures and always have been. its totally normal to rely on your friends/family/spouse, it’s just that modern society has started frowning upon it and telling people they need to be independent.
Yeah you need to be able to survive on your own if it comes to that but that doesn’t mean you should shy away from getting used to the support people close to you can give.
