I will always pay a donation if they ask me for a donatioon or pound for the sound at the gate! but when i trn up to a party and they give me the choice of paying £3+ or not getting in it annoy’s due to the fact these are suppose to be free partys!
I know these partys do time alot of time effort and money due to the fact i’ve been planning on putting one on for ages but have lacked in all of the above!
But i dont think a free partie crew should call themselves a free party crew if they dont give you the choice!

i kind of see what you mean, but the ‘free’ in free party is ‘free to do what you want to’

I always thought “free” parties were organised to get round the licensing laws? It’s always going to cost someone, fuel for genny’s, transport and rigs don’t grow on trees, well, actually after a hefty dose of liquid…. anyway that’s getting off the track, but as I said before, clearing litter up, not wrecking everything in site and keeping an eye out on each others back is a good way to go to my mind, all of the above not happening at clubs is what got me into the scene in the first place, I’m happy to break unjust laws as long as I’m in the level with true human ones….. fuck me, took a hippy pill this morning I swear!

Donated a few quid at a few parties – some were on the door type charges, but I bet most of ’em would let you in if you genuinely had no money :weee:

if crews have stopped passing round donation buckets then they are probably funding their party via drugs sales as a more guaranteed revenue stream

its all fun and games and makes people feel like the big don – until they get knocked by a rival / ripped off or busted and people start going HMP

OK the régime there may not be as harsh as it once was and there might be some “street kudos” for surviving but try getting a decent job when you’ve got a prison record – lots of employers who still use British labour are in jobs where CRB is required and 50% of employers just won’t even interview an ex-con, irrespective of what the original crime was..

OK passing round a bucket to make “money” on someone elses property might be seen as cheeky by the authorities, but its not gonna be viewed as harsh as class A drugs deals..

One of the few free parties I’ve been to was the only one I saw with a bucket… I actually thought it was a rabbit hole at the time, and tried to climb in, so the kind girl asked me, “A pound for the sound, sir?” whilst gently pulling my head from it. Unfortunately, I only had a few dids and no cahs, so I gave one to her and told her to give two more to the two boys who owned the rig… I think I did the better thing, somehow…
