hats off to you
I realise that you all have strong views and want to voice these by showing your strength in numbers. I am obviously not going to identify myself, but as a member of a government organisation, I will be scrutinising everyone, not all over Scotland, but certainly in Edinburgh and there is, without any reservation, going to be a zero tolerence to any forms of anti social behaviour. For those of you who dont know what that means, it includes bad language, including all signs, violent behaviour, litter, drinking in the streets and also violent provocation brought through certain types of banners and flags. Should any of these be infringed then you will be dealt with swiftly and made an example of for the benefit of others around you. This is no threat, it is a promise and will be acrried out as you will see, as there will be many who wont read this and others who think they can hide amongst the crowds. Edinburgh is a fabulous city and most of the people encourage, safe and proper demonstration, but I can asure you I and we, will be watching, at all times and we have the bigger gang and use of force should it be required. We have people among you already reporting back and it will be an interesting and varied time, albeit good experience for myself.
I look forward to seeing you all this and next week and taking action to all you idiots who think this is a joke mail.
Take warning
Troll, there is no law against drinking in public in Edinburgh not even during the g8 protests.
i wont be inattendance, unfortunately, 1 im skint, and 2 im sure the pigs will be well heavy up there and i dont think that having a rave near the g8 meet is gonna do shit. they dont give a shit what a bunch of ravers think. march by all means, within the law, but the madia will be looking for any illegal shit to put a damper on the whole thing.
“watchful eye” – you clearly haven’t been watching here closely enough, or you would have realised that no-one on this particular messageboard is advocating anything other than peaceful protest.
I’ve just seen yet another message supporting this protest and it contains a specific request not to cause violence.
there are actually rules on this board and one of them is that people do not advocate violence or abuse of any kind; whether it is because of something that happened at a rave or any other reason such as their political beliefs. posts which contravene this rule are edited or removed.
TBH the kind of people who would start trouble at a demo like this or anywhere else are unlikely to read this particular board (or for that matter be able to read or or work a computer!)
Even if you are “official”, your message has no weight whatsoever posted anonymously from a civillians internet connection. You could be anyone…. and are you actually authorised to speak to the media (which includes message boards such as this) on behalf of your employers?
Most public sector workers are not, and have to go through their press offices; if anything to avoid mixed messages (for instance you seem to think there is a law against street drinking in Edinburgh , yet I have also checked the official sites and not found anything of that nature). I am rather concerned that you seem prepared to “enforce” a law that does not exist!
Our users are intelligent people and know where to look on the official sources for info on what they can and cannot do at this demonstration, such as the lothian and borders police website.
If you aren’t just a joker, you are probably a CCTV operator for Edinburgh.
I’ve not got a problem with that as we have them in my city too and sometimes they do good work – but the tone of your messsage makes me think you are angry and frustrated that this demo has even been allowed to happen – and just looking for somewhere to whinge.
Fair enough – I can understand that as I do think certain aged pop stars are stirring the pot even more and every large gathering of people does present a security risk in the present climate – but you also have to play by the rules – and one of those is you enforce the law that is in the statue books, not the law as coloured by your personal preferences.
TBH your time would be better spent watching those monitors and keeping the city safe (whether there is a demo or not) than making random anon posts to messageboards….
we have the bigger gang and use of force should it be required
what a numpty :weee:
Really sounds like a member of the authority looking to keep the peace. You wanna pick a fight mate, do it somewhere other than a peace and justice protest!
Perhaps you should have read the message with innocence- fortunatly we do not understand your sinister annotations, so please do come along and find us .. the reality of what we are about will probably worry you- no trouble = no police when all said and done- please remember the police force and other governmental organsitions are but a product of society- you are posting on a socially interactive board. we exist within good-respectful-environmentally organised communities who will help each other and do not wish to invade space or incite riots. So be warned it is clear from the above posting that you are trying to incite bad feeling at the offset – clearly this is against the public policies that have been written to PROTECT communities from such negative and aggressive WARNINGS! Incidently we shall be flying the Scottish-Welsh-Cornish and Olde English flags how do these stack up!
let the people be and they will BE
